Are they losing the license or is the current contract set to expire? There’s a difference. The contract between CM and F1 was announced Nov, 2019 and ran until 2025 with options for further extensions. That is not the same as losing the license.
So unless there has been an announcement by either party, take a deep breath and see what happens.

From what I can tell it is an article entitled “Could EA Sports Lose the F1 License After 2025?” that has no attributed quotes just speculation. Maybe the OP has more info.

Nothing offcial, but it was written here:
Not sure who this Wiktor is, though.
I'd take those rumors with a grain of salt, units sold is EA's problem not the FOM's. The FOM would primarily be concerned with getting the most lucrative licensing fee possible (who can pay more than EA?) and having decent reviews (believe it or not F1 24 is sitting at 66% positive on Steam overall and 72% on reviews in the last month) so there isn't much incentive for them to pull the plug.
That said, it's completely possible EA decides not to renew the license from their end when it expires if they feel they're not making enough money back and there isn't a quick and easy path back to profitability.
The thing that sticks out to me is his comment about the license going to iRacing or RFactor, which IMO feels unlikely. As I mentioned they would most likely give it to the highest bidder which would probably be 2K as they were runner-up in the bidding war to purchase Codemasters. F1 2k27 anyone?

For EA Sport I understand F1 was the third best revenue game. If true, EA would not be rushing to end the deal. Not sure FOM would be rushing either. So if there are options on the contract, they probably will be picked up unless another developer is willing to pay even more than EA.
I dunno. For FOM, there isn't really a better option than EA, and I really don't think FOM cares about how good the games are as long as they get paid. EA can shell out way more money for the license than Nacon, Motorsport Games, KW, Kunos, or even iRacing. The only company I think that could match it would be Microsoft, but I'm not sure how good of a job Playground/Turn10 would do with the series.
I think the state of the franchise deserves some scrutiny at the moment, but until something actually happens, everything is just rumors. That, and EA has a track record of buying their way out of their problems. So I'm not holding my breath for any major change.

To put it bluntly if they "are not making enough money" then that's their fault entirely for absolutely refusing to listen to the request from the community.
This game series could be a million times better than what we currently have. To me EA seem fixated on gimmicks rather than offering a realistic F1 experience for the players.
I mean seriously, stickers and F1 world? I'm sorry but this is absolute nonsense!
There are so many good things they have done, honestly. But they let themselves down by concentrating on meaningless drivel rather than focusing on what F1 fans actually want!

I have a suspicion the average fans age for the F1 series is older than their FC or Madden audience. What works there is falling flat here. Even Season 3’s big prize is a Neon drive set. Maybe I am way too old but they could have said “unicorn, rainbow, sprinkles” and get the same reaction out of me.
They claim a revamped podium pass and new store items. We’ll see if they actually listened to what we were saying about helmets and liveries. Things that look like a real current or classic team would use in their car.
I mean set the design template for the McLaren MP4/8, MP4/13 Jordan 91, or Williams FW14 and let me change the colours to whatever and I’d be grateful.
Otherwise just give me the rainbow sprinkles. I won’t use them.
