@IanM282Oh good it wasn't just me noticing that I have very little traction now then, what was the patch note? "Updated gamepad settings to make handling consistent and predictable".
Um who tested your patch, Codies?
Because I got none of that effect, if anything it's worse, I ran my setup on Austria, I can only do 1:05.825, v1.6 I could do 1:05.2s and have time left on the table, here I have no idea how to gain any more traction therefore time, short shifting just bogs it down (I know it dulls the revs, but it feels like I'm stood-still). Canada barely can do 1:11.9 on my setup that I went a second faster (1:10.9) on v1.6, why? Because the traction was so much better, now I can't get out turns with any traction even though every gameplay video has magic traction, Bahrain, short shifting out of turn 2, no effect wheelspin with a straight wheel with 10-25% throttle, result 1:30.213, I sweated to get more time, but I could never improve.
I don't get it, I turned up the trigger function to Strong, it has minimal effect from Medium, I look at times posted on the leader boards and I'm disheartened to see players running TC Full indicated by all three green icons going so much faster than I could. I can't be bothered anymore, I tried different calibration settings then went back to ScarDuck14's settings again so it wasn't that either. So very angry and frustrated with this dynamic handling model they have, it just doesn't feel good at all, I'd rather play F1 2020 or 2021 than this, F1 2023 wasn't bad either to be fair, but this one, hmm losing my patience with this game very quick, almost as fast as F1 22
@Rapheal629Personally me and some others dont feel any worse with this Patch. Perhaps sharing your controller settings and car setups you use can shed some light from others too on you?
Also not all times near the top of the leaderboards with all assists on have to be legit

People keep mentioning the handling is worst with a pad, but what about with a wheel? Has it improved at all?

Strangely enough I found potential at Spain when I had big issues in Sector 3 with turn 10 and 11 being culprits for very little traction, but managing it, it's not too bad. How do I stop the car's rear going away from me in long fast corners, maybe I do turn harshly, but that's what the track guide tells me, hug the inside kerb in 3, cant do it, if I don't turn harshly, I understeer massively, Spain's turn 3, turns 13 and 14 snap on me on entry, even though I'm following what the track guides on Youtube say to do. Maybe it's just me and I need to learn to be more consistent- ScarDuck147 months agoLegend@Rapheal629 Same pad setting as me 👍
- 7 months ago@ScarDuck14 Yeah I mentioned in another thread, I used your settings and 1.7 felt awful and I tried tinkering with it, but ultimately went back to those because I felt no difference and changing it felt worse so I went back to the status quo
- 7 months ago@Rapheal629 Okay so first i would play around with the steering rate and wheel rotation settings and possibly play a bit with the throttle linearity again.
For long turns id advice playing with different anti roll bar settings if it feels too unstable id go with higher front values than rear, less difference (towards higher front values) for the suspension can also make the car more stable. Since one of the previous patches the ride height also changed so id advice increasing the ride height, especially the rear for the fast turns as the compression is strongest there.- 7 months ago@Meza994 Ball park figure for wheel rotation and throttle linearity?
I admit the Spain setup was the top of the leader board v1.6 before they were wiped so the anti roll bar settings were a bit extreme, average difference in clicks on front and rear anti roll bar, do you think my ride height on the rear is still too low on the setups I gave you and this is causing bottoming out?
