F1® 24 - Patch 1.8 Discussion Thread

Hey everyone,

The v1.8 patch for F1® 24 will roll-out on all platforms from Monday, August 19th at 10am UTC. It includes several tweaks and bug fixes for multiplayer, along with some other minor quality of life changes.

The second part of Season 2 soon gets underway with a special Red Bull series, featuring some exciting Max Verstappen-themed events and rewards, playable for all players from August 20. Read more about that here.

You can find out what's in this patch in this thread HERE.

Need some help? Something in the patch not working the way it should? Tell us in this thread.

Gamepad was perfect before they completely destroyed it with a patch that was supposed to fix it. Honestly you couldn't make it up!

The majority of gamepad players all say the same thing.

I haven't played the game since. Awful!

Same.  i may as well uninstall at this point.

Yes don't buy it, worst F1 game ever made by a million miles.

  • @IanM282 Still miles clear of anything from the old engine and more fun to drive - only drive not the AI as cry babies made the AI to what it is now - more fun to drive than F1 22
  • "AI vehicles in F1 World Series and Solo Events will now use a wider variety of liveries and badges"

Apparently, this was a straight out lie. Custom cars in F1 World events still use the same default livery with no color variations, and the same emblems. I'm positive that the devs don't test patches before release.

I had 3 variations on the default colour and 1 different livery in addition to my own.

As for emplems, there were 3 repeated over and over all in monochromatic red.

I'm beginning to think there aren't any major improvements coming for F124. There are still a lot of massively glaring and obvious issues still yet to be resolved and the same absolutely secrecy and silence.

How is it possible to have the AI DRS train issue not sully resolved and the status still indicates under investigation after all this time?

Are we getting any more handling improvements since it was completely destroyed for the majority of controller players? To which a lot aren't even bothered playing the game solely because of that!

The lack of transparency just makes people more frustrated. The game is far from perfect, with some chronic problems.

    So disappointed!

I relaunched the game after the 1,8 update, the levels of disappointment have led me to uninstall it.  i forgot about uninstalling until I played again.

  • After spending more time with the game, I'm starting to feel like the glaring issue with the handling is the steering filter.  In F1 23, the steering isn't anywhere near as "snappy" on initial steering input as F1 24.  I think making the front end more pointy was the right call, but I think it went too far.  I think if the initial steering inputs can be toned down a bit, it'll help a lot.  Really, if the steering filter lands somewhere between 23 and 24, I think that would be the sweet spot.

It's a strange feeling to have put 100 hours into this game and still not know how I really feel about it.  Sometimes it's sublime, and other times it's undriveable.
