Hi EA/Codemasters, here my feedback after some days of testing (PS5 & steering wheel).
In general the handling is actually weird: the front is so strong, the rear at first doesn’t follow then it suddenly gets in. If you want to go fast you just have to put the front inside the corner at insane speed, wait for the weird realignment of the rear and go full throttle on exit without any fear. It isn't smooth.
This behaviour I think it’s the main problem of the current handling, I would not define it as ‘arcade’, rather more that ‘something does not work properly’ on weight distribution or whatever.
Plus it looks impossible to avoid tyres locking while braking, no matter of BB or EB, even if with the right amount of braking you can still manage to have a good entry (while locking and with smoking tyres!!!), for example here:
--- please note all the linked video are max 15 sec ---
F1 24 locking & traction --> LINK
In the previous video you can also watch the insane traction from low speed in T1 exit (Monza), 2nd gear and full throttle ASAP. This doesn’t look realistic watching at the Sainz pole position 2023 where he must be much more gentle on the throttle + shortshift (just look at the traction on T1 exit): LINK
Other than that I put some video which show an insane amount of grip in every condition:
-- trying to lose grip at 300 km/h on a straight line
F1 24 dry --> LINK
F1 24 wet --> LINK looking so unrealistic!!!
While this was F1 23 dry (LINK) & wet (LINK)
On track it is also clear in multiple corners where you go flat out when it is impossible IRL
-- this is what happens attempting donuts
F1 24 360 --> LINK something is weird, it's as if the car doesn't follow my inputs but there is an automatic realignment (I play with all the aids off, is there something hidden?)
While this was F1 23 360 (LINK) nothing weird
As last about setup is still early to say but it seems that most of the parameters are all R or all L, including the wings.
Hope you will find the right balance for the new handling and give it to us very soon 😎
Thanks,
Nuv
