In my opinion, it is a lot better. However, there are a few fundamental issues as far as I can see.The grip at low to medium load is obviously too high, which I’m sure you already know. The slip angle peak is way too high, and lowering it would help reduce tyre friction in corners, which is currently causing too much induced drag and slowing the car down unrealistically.The camber and toe adjustments are, like every year, somewhat useless, especially the camber. Maximum negative camber is the best tuning option regardless of the track or situation. Toe was better before this patch; I sometimes used some rear toe, but now that the actual physical value isn't zero anymore, there's no real point.The engine brake has become even less useful since this patch, as its strength has been reduced. Therefore, 100% engine braking is the only real option if you want to be as fast as possible.It's a pity that the third springs can't be tuned individually; I suspect they are tied to the normal spring settings. I'm not sure about this, but the fact is that they can't be adjusted individually via the garage screen.Tyre temperature and pressure are still not balanced well enough. In most cases, maximum tyre pressure is probably the best bet, especially in race trim. The penalty for being below or above the ideal temperature is not severe enough. This makes the new dynamic tyre temperatures and wear too easy to manage. Overall, it hasn't really changed anything; it is still a matter of pushing as much as you can for the entire race, with no managing required.The tyre wear is not aggressive enough. It is too easy to recover ERS energy. The slipstream is still too strong, while dirty air is not strong enough.The yellow anti-cut pieces, called "sausage curbs," are non-existent, as if the collision is damped or off. This is a pity because the bottoming out on straights and cornering is really nice and realistic.Overall, there are improvements and drawbacks compared to '23. Your answer lies somewhere between the two titles.

I also have the feeling that nothing has changed. Or at least not in as big way as it's been hyped. The handling model is much better than what it was at the release, but it's still horrible. You can slide as much as you want, there will be no consequences after that. You're actually faster when you drive like a *, and yenk the car all around the track. From any view, it looks ridiculous. It looks like a stupid idea. You have a ridiculous amount of traction everywhere. I just can't understand the reason why? But for real, who thought that it will be a good idea? Did somebody tried it out before release? The ERS system is unrealistic. I almost can use full of my ERS, and i can recharge it in the same lap. And yeah, i know, we, the community asked for the multi functional ERS, but not in that form. Hell no. The curbs? They act strangely. In the fast corners, if you touch the inner curb, it can spin your car. Maybe that's okay, but what's the matter with all the big curbs, like sasuge curb, etc? You can jump all over them. They just there, but that's all. No reason to exist.You know what, guys? I've been buying your games since 2011. I'm a hardcore fan, i have been with you ever since. But the F1 24 is like a Need For Speed Game. It just doesn't feel realistic at all. It's just not! By having bunch of surrealistic stuffs, it's unenjoyable. Sometimtes i feel like you made the game for controller players. But i don't know why. You should listen to all the constructive cricism. We are not against you... we are with you.

Nothing to add to the first 2 paragraphs which i feel like are the biggest problems with the handling itself.Engine braking was changed afaik because people had locking up at 100% which shouldnt have been changed, its meant to find a sweet spot and if you cant handle the brakes on the most extreme settings on all tracks then thats actually a good thing isnt it?Third spring would truly be interesting especially with the whole dynamic between floor downforce, wing downforce and rake. A seperate option for tuning that in the setup would be nice for F1 25.You know how much im about tyre temps and i still think the foundation is great and finding the most realistic balance isnt so tough, but especially with increased grip dropoff above/below perfect temps it becomes a useless feature for singleplayer when the AI is unaffected which i dont understand to this day, even in 2019 they had temperature simulation which wasnt that far off, differences of 2-3° core temps are fine, sadly back then the temps they had didnt give them any less grip which was a weird decision but now they are affected by the grip for different temps but are hardcoded to perfect temps after heating up.. They should get that right and engine temps to behave equal to the player and you got a truly dynamic characteristic and variable race results if tyre and engine heating were different car to car (and an upgrade path in the chassis area in career modes).Tyre wear at high speed corners/high load wear seems a bit too low and energy recovery from the MGU-H should probably be lowered but as the AI needs it to act like they drive different cars or not do the same time every lap it cant really be nerfed much for F1 24.The potential is definitely there!

The game team is monitoring this thread, but I have highlighted your feedback as I feel it is a great constructive opinion.

I can't quite put into words why I feel this handling model after 23 is so much of a downgrade. I'm usually a top 500 time trial player (PC, Fanatec DD) so I hope it's not a skill issue.The car doesn't feel like a car. The front end to back end grip doesn't feel natural, the turn in doesn't make sense etc. It's possible to learn to drive this model fast, but it doesn't feel like driving a formula car.

I know a lot of people said they didn’t like the handling before but it is even worse now than it was before the v1.6 update even the handling when I’m nowhere near the curbs is horrific

I don't know what problem you have with the game either. I drive online on the Playstation 5 platform and have no problems described here. You just have to learn to drive these cars.

@Techstyler81 I agree, to an extent. Sure, there's always the adjustment period of a new handling model. But there are other things to consider before you just start saying "skill issue" to other people. Are you on controller? Are you on a wheel? Are you using TC assists? If you're on a wheel/pedals, what brand are they?
This could be an issue in the core of the handling model, it could just be how the game is interacting with certain peripherals. Maybe the game just needs more tweaking for MOZA hardware. Maybe the game is just optimized for controllers. I don't know. But when a game has absolutely zero RPM response until 40% throttle, there's a problem (even if it's only for a handful of users).
I've put about 70 hours into the new handling model, and sure, I can make it work. But I've tested F1 22, F1 23, AC, ACC, LMU, RF2, RR, and AMS2, and absolutely none of them have this issue.

I honestly have no idea why they have to keep changing the handling model every year when it's within the same regulations? Once a real life regulation change is applied then yes by all means change the handling accordingly.
They have made a complete and utter hash of this year's handling model. Along with the absolute shambolic AI!
EA, you'd be much better off improving the things we all have been asking for instead of allocating hours and hours to change a handling model within the same year on year regulations.
Small tweaks is all that is needed until a full blown regulation change.
Improve the game more instead!

So I drive on the PC with a controller and would like to set the traction control to medium and drive with manual transmission. Unfortunately no chance as the car always skids in low gears. Shame, I wanted to develop myself a bit further. I'm not too stupid to drive either, I'm in 121st place in the Alonso challenge, so top 3 percent. I think I could do a bit better. Unfortunately I can't get higher than 80 percent with the AI either. I have the feeling that the traction control slows me down a lot in the corners. Something could be improved so that you have a small chance against drivers with steering wheels. Unfortunately I don't have enough space for half a car in my living room.

the handling still feels like more front grip still a bit twchy... also no REAR grip at all... higher traction power says it all the car just goo all over the place.... still 20 rear and 38 front downforce is working... you need to work also on rear high speed medium speed and low but not sure in low speed

I liked the handling a lot better before the patch. It was especially good in F1 2024. Now it doesn't feel as dynamic as before the patch.
However, the medium traction control is more usable again.
I drive with the controller.
