f1 2024 PSvr2
Formula 1 2024 MUST come with PSVR2 availability. GT7 is definitely a game changer for lovers of speed and racing simulators. The Formula 1 category is by far one of the most modern sports categories...
I’m wiling to bet it doesn’t. There are still only 2 AAA games (both Sony) that support PSVR2. And the fact that Sony are now working on PSVR2 to work on PC pretty much means even Sony don’t see much off a future for it unless they can get more people buying it. Until then no AAA or decent AA games will bother.
Honestly, it's a fairly simple equation for CM. How easy/time consuming is it to implement PSVR2?
What percentage of our players play on PlayStation?
Of those who play on PS5 how many have virtual reality headsets?
TLDR, You need to reach come sort of critical mass in terms of player base to make it worthwhile and I'm inclined to agree with @ScarDuck14 that it seems unlikely.
Also given the number of bugs, glitches and lack of innovation relating to core gameplay features that tend to accompany every new release I think the community would be better served by them focusing on those issues instead of implementing something that's going to be used by less than 5% of the player base.
Agree, as much as I love GT7 w PSVR2, I think the likihood is almost nil. Disappointed that Sony is not apparently supporting PSVR2 more agressively. A poor job by CM at the expense of a better overall release would not help.
Probably far more people than play split screen mode which they spent time and resurces on. Not to mention the serious sim racers who only play in VR who will be live streaming on YouTube and give this a miss if they don't take the VR mode seriously on PC and offer the mode on playstation.
Gran turismo VR was huge and transcended the genre in terms of player interest.
@lufc100 Gran Turismo is more targeted at a hardcore sim audience though. F1 is simcade with heavy emphasis on the cade part.
The average consumer for EA/CM just wants to pick a up a controller and go wheel to wheel with Verstappen, Hamilton, LeClerc and the gang for an evening. VR isn’t going to be a selling point to them like it was to the GT crowd.
GT7 is made by Polyphony Digital, a first party studio owned by Sony.
