f1 2024 PSvr2
Formula 1 2024 MUST come with PSVR2 availability. GT7 is definitely a game changer for lovers of speed and racing simulators. The Formula 1 category is by far one of the most modern sports categories...
@lufc100 Gran Turismo is more targeted at a hardcore sim audience though. F1 is simcade with heavy emphasis on the cade part.
The average consumer for EA/CM just wants to pick a up a controller and go wheel to wheel with Verstappen, Hamilton, LeClerc and the gang for an evening. VR isn’t going to be a selling point to them like it was to the GT crowd.

I would disagree that GT is targeting the hardcore sim racing crowd, as its long been pitched pretty much to the broader car culture fandom. Its been derided by the hardcore PC based sim users as too arcade. It offers a large range of car related themes besides competition - history, collecting, photo, liveries, customization. From a sim perspective the title has improved, and force feedback has improved a lot (and now much better than F1 IMO), there’s still a big (and competitive) pad player base as well.
But the VR implentation moves it up massively - the modeling of the cars and tracks greatly adds to both immersion and the driving experience. Tracks in flat view I didn’t like or do well on changed for me dramatially when running in VR.
Cost wise yes, the entry point is high, but the total $1200 investment is still competitive with the PC options if you don’t have a gaming PC, and a lot less hassle.
I would love to have F1 support PSVR, but agree that CM has other pressing priorities to spend money on (hopefully more wisely than recently).
But my decision to spend a few casual hours driving doesn’t go very often to F1 2X, in spite of being a longtime follower, and some of that is due to the immersion while driving in VR.
If the money was there I think the VR option on PS5 would add positively to the perception of the title, and would certainly increase the time I’d spend w it

Not being funny but EA don't get paid by how much you play the title, they get paid if you buy it. Wake up and smell the ☕

Thx Steve - Doh I NEVER would have guessed that 😉- but it does seem they do try and make SOME added money via regular play using micro trans, and for an anual title, hope I would buy it again each year, which gets less likely if I’m NOT playing it
The last F1 game I bought was 2020, which at first was largely down to the fact that the game barely changes each year and now because of lack of VR. If it's still the case that people would rather see improvements to the core game that they've been waiting on for years over PSVR2 support, then isn't it about time people question what the money is going into each year? At least with something new like PSVR2 support being added, we know the money has gone into a genuine improvement in the game.
I also don't get the argument that there is a stigma around VR because it is anti-social. Gaming in general is anti-social. It's often a person sitting on there own, in a room, playing a video game. It doesn't matter if you're wearing a VR headset or not. No-one who is not in that room with you is going to know.
The most social gaming I've had in recent years is because of VR. I can't for the life of me play horror games in VR on my own, so me and a couple of mates will go through the Resident Evil games and take it on turns doing sections of the game in VR. Still bloody scary, especially when someone decides to creep up on you when you have the headset on. The alcohol does help to calm the nerves though.
Same in GT7 VR. We'll pick a car and a track and set fastest laps and we take it in turns to beat eachothers ghost cars. Works really well. Everyone who tries PSVR2 a my house wants one, but the cost of the headset is the factor, not any stigma around VR itself.
