f1 2024 PSvr2
Formula 1 2024 MUST come with PSVR2 availability. GT7 is definitely a game changer for lovers of speed and racing simulators. The Formula 1 category is by far one of the most modern sports categories...
@superhoops82What do you mean.. Question where the money is going? If there are any profits it goes the same place as it always goes.. To EA and shareholders. And they don’t have to justify to us where the money goes.
As for antisocial. Most people live in a house with other people who in most cases interact with those other people. Be it roommates or family members. Your looking at it from your point off view and not other people’s
“Still bloody scary, especially when someone decides to creep up on you when you have the headset on. The alcohol does help to calm the nerves though.”
This is another big factor why people don’t like wearing a headset. They feel vulnerable. Which you have just proven

Then they won't put money into making the game better either then if that's what people are waiting on...
I didn't say I play videogames in a room on my own personally, but a lot of people do. FYI, I play videogames in my living room, in a sociable setting, with my wife on the same sofa as me. She'll play Astrobot and Moss VR with me, or just chill out doing her own thing while I play GT7 VR and we manage to even chat while I'm driving too... even with the VR headset on! The headset only goes over the eyes, not the mouth, as those who have never owned one may not know.
As for the "vulnerability", yeah some may feel that and if so then VR isn't for them. My mates creeping up on me is just them having a laugh. No need to overthink it.
Anyway, gaming is about enjoying other experiences from your home, playing as different characters, living in another world. VR brings you right into the middle of it beyond what a flat screen can do and I ruddy love it.
@superhoops82I also have my ps5 in my lounge and it’s the only console/pc I have.
If I was wrong why are have Sony themselves admitted that they are disappointed with VR sales. To the point they have shut down or moved studios that were working on VR games etc to other projects. Not to mention they are working on making VR compatible with PC… to help sales.
You’re looking at it from your pov. As in you think it’s amazing and it is an amazing bit off kit. But not that amazing that makes people want to buy it
Yes your mates creeping up on you is them having a laugh I know this I’m not simple. But your missing the point
@ScarDuck14 I'm not disputing the sales figures of PSVR2 at all. I don't know the actual figures (I'm not sure anyone other than Sony really do). My point is that I think the main reason for lack of customer adoption of the hardware is due to cost, rather than people thinking using VR is anti-social or people feeling vulnerable.
Quest alone have sold 20 million of their headsets. Imagine if it was that affordable for the PSVR2 and PS5 combo. Sufficient demand for VR is out there. Just depends on cost.
Going back to my point on social and anti-social gaming. That's up to the individual. Gaming can be as social or anti-social as the gamer wants it to be, whether it's VR, flat screen TV or handheld device. If people want to play games on their own, that's absolutely fine. It makes no difference if you're wearing a VR headset or not. Also, it's not like all gamers, like myself, are playing games (whether in VR or not) 24/7, we do have social lives away from gaming too. I probably game about 10 hours a week at the most. My preference for socialising is going to the pub, but like VR for other people, I'm being priced out of that too! Over £7 a pint in many places in London...
@superhoops82There are countless more applications other than games that VR is used for on PC hence why quest has sold so many.
I know how much a Pint is. I live in east London

Don't forget, you don't need a PC to use a Quest...
@superhoops82Did I not mention pc that post🤷🏻♂️😂. Incidentally there are countless millions more PC than there are PS5s

I said you DON'T need a PC to use a Quest, which makes it significantly cheaper than PSVR2 which requires a PS5, plus the PSVR2 headset alone is more expensive anyway.
Anyway, we're getting distracted here. Back to my original point. Let's hope they add PSVR2 support for an F1 game at some point in the future. Whether it be options, game modes or support for hardware/accessories, it is always better to have more of those than less. I'm sure that's something we can all agree on.
It doesn’t have to be just about profit. You have an official F1 license to make a game of the highest levels. You have to do it with the most advanced elements like F1 is in reality. PlayStation is increasingly an important market in racing simulation. Let's think about GT7 and F1 and the best proof is Fanatec with now several PS compatible products. There are even 2 bundles exclusively for GT7. They have just launched an F1 - PS bundle. I believe that the arrival of EA changed the philosophy of Codemasters, profitability above all, developing for as many platforms as possible for greater profit. I think they are on the wrong track!! Looking at the comments about F1 pre-orders, 95% of users are not going ahead with F1 24 because there is nothing new! It doesn't matter if you do VR, PSVR2 would have been a shockwave that would have shaken things up. Too bad if PSVR2 is not supported with F1 24, after purchasing all the F1, I did not join 23 and as long as there is no VR for PS I will not go back ! I do not encourage mediocrity.
@Meteore yeah, that's my feeling. I'm sure there is profit from adding PSVR2 support. I don't know the cost for adding in PSVR2 support, but seeing as it's already supported on PC, I'd have thought it would be cheaper than starting from scratch.
I was looking into when Codemasters brought out Dirt Rally VR. Original PSVR had sold about 800,000 headsets at that point, which is below the number of sold PSVR2 headsets currently. So it's not like we're below a certain number of headset sales that could trigger developer support for PSVR2, unless it's different for this latest headset.
I also read that F123 sales were 47% lower than F122 at launch, so the series could do with a kick, which something like PSVR2 support could bring. Are the current sales figures for F123 out there? I tried looking, but only saw something about them hitting the 200,000 mark. There are 1.2 Million PSVR2 owners out there apparently for comparison.
@MeteoreIt’s absolutely about profit… Don’t know if you’ve seen but gaming industry is making huge lay offs especially AAA studios. Not to mention a load of big upcoming AAA games have been cancelled. If publishers don’t think games will meet their margins they are cancelled.
FPS + Mandalorian + Respawn =. Banger…. Just got cancelled.
Minimal viable content for AAA prices is what AAA games are now
Ended up getting in the same conversation last year and just went round and round. Did they add it last year? Nope. Will they add it this year? Maybe… but personally I doubt it. I’ll try not to reply on this thread any longer
@Meteore @superhoops82 "If you build it....they will come" isn't a strategy that even VC would readily embrace at this juncture.
Only just started watching this but this video is relevant to discussion
