f1 2024 PSvr2
Formula 1 2024 MUST come with PSVR2 availability. GT7 is definitely a game changer for lovers of speed and racing simulators. The Formula 1 category is by far one of the most modern sports categories...
I have discussed this topic for 2 years (F1 2023 / 2024) ...and like you said superhoops82 .... We never have feed back from EA / Codemasters and it's very frustrating for user like me who has purchased all F1 version since 2010. I repeat myself saying that it is not fair to make a PCVR version without making a PSVR2 version. Anyway I have any hope to see PSVR2 for F1 2024, the project is closed!
I looked at Time Trial boards - PS players are 51% across all the boards on average, rest split among XB and PC, so maybe the PSVR2 userbase is > or = to the PC VR base? And probably harder to code for the multiple PC variations than PS single variant.
So maybe dump the PC VR users (as they supposedly would rather tripple screen anyway😉) and get some PS buzz going?
@Meteore @Neil_RS60 Sim racers prefer triple or even single screen if it’s big enough. As the have custom sim rig set ups with various different peripherals such as H shifters and Handbrakes which if wearing a headset makes it harder to see but also
This video is from a top tier sim racer and may be off some interest as to why he doesn’t use VR and prefers single screen

Also one million psvr2 per 70 million PS5s. Doesn’t matter that half play on PS. Vr is a tiny minority of PS player base 1 in 70 . Whereas PC compatible headsets have sold millions upon millions more than PSVR2.
Also Sony are working on making PSVR2 compatible with PC now in a desperate hope off selling more
@ScarDuck14 Interesting points but personal preferences as well. I have a rig w shifter, handbrake etc, and VR not a major obstacle for use/enjoyment of those items.
And not re-debating the general market share points you make (often). Just noting that
1) F1 PC VR users are likely in the minority of PC users based on those sorts of preferences you and others note, and much lower than overall % of PC VR sales
2) F1 PS players are half the active TT userbase w PC and XB making up the rest (XB the smallest or PC?)
3) PSVR2 penetration is likely much higher to racing gamers than the overall 8% average unit sales based on GT7 users comments and league particpation
So its possible, (even likely?) that the PS5 F1 player base already owning a PSVR2 is larger than the F1 PC VR player base.
Would PSVR2 support drive more usage? My take is yes. Would it be cheaper to develop/support? Possibly. WIll Sony get its act together on PS VR? Unfortunately not looking likely
🙏
@Neil_RS60Because market share is what will drive publishers like EA to add support to their games. Simply If the margins are there they will add it. No AAA games are adding support. Also popular AA games don’t have it.
As for usage on GT7… It’s the game Sony Showcased for it. To appeal to and get those who Already bought millions of copies before PSVR2 to buy it. It’s by far the best game and most popular game that has it. Concurrent players off GT7 will be way higher than F1 24 in 3 months.
@Neil_RS60Good points! I still have difficult to understand the PC SimRacer with one or 3 screens! Okay their screens are high quality… I played on flat screen for a long time and now on GT7 (SimCad) on PSVR2 and for sure at 200% I cannot return of my life on flat screen for racing game. Yes with GT7 we have a big VR quality for around 2 meters (interior car is unbelievable), greater than this distance the VR is a very fair quality.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd imagine the number of gamers who want PSVR2 support is higher than those who'd rather have supercars in an F1 game. I'm sure pumping the money in to add those supercars drove profits right up... From what I've read, the F1 games are selling less and less each year, mainly because it's not bringing anything new to the table, plus PSVR2 owners like me are only interested in racing in VR from now on. I've not bought an F1 game since 2020 and now have F123 free on PS Plus, yet still not played an F1 game since 2020 and F1 is in my top two sports alongside football.
If small indie developers can and still have the desire to port existing VR games to PSVR2, I'm sure EA can do the same.

@superhoops82Point is they are choosing not to
That's not actually confirmed yet. If that ends up being the case though, then all we want to know are the reasons why.

@superhoops82Agree with you….why supercars in F1 !! And I don’t want a stories in F1. I want racing and good challenges with the AI. I love GT7 only about VR, the experience is awesome !!! But I don’t like the challenge, we need a championship in the game. Also in the race, you are the last on the track, so you need a better car than all others to be in challenge (yes - online races are different). F1 is my passion, I follow all the season on TV. In game, I always do the race in full. Maybe F1 2024 will come in PSVR2 in DLC! We hope!!
Yeah GT7 is awesome in VR, but it doesn't have anything close that matches a full championship racing season like an F1 game does. I know PSVR2 isn't perfect graphically. There's still lots of pop in on GT7 and it's still some way from crystal clear resolution in busy games like GT7, but the immersion more than makes up for it. VR is far from dead and PSVR2 isn't doing that badly really when you consider the price. It is very expensive and is likely the top reason why it's not sold more. The more affordable Quest sales show that there is a strong market for VR though and if you go on the Playstation store there are new VR games coming out on a monthly basis. Metro, Wanderer and Behemoth are some big VR games coming to PSVR2 this year, so I'm confident it's got a future. I just want to enjoy a battle with Kevin Magnussen like Lewis did just now on the Miami sprint race in PSVR2. Although, I'm not sure Lewis was enjoying that!
