f1 2024 PSvr2
Formula 1 2024 MUST come with PSVR2 availability. GT7 is definitely a game changer for lovers of speed and racing simulators. The Formula 1 category is by far one of the most modern sports categories...
@Cpayne32 I imagine the number of PSVR2 players buying F124 if it supported the headset would be a fair bit higher than that. Certainly at least 100,000 if you align it to number of RE4 remake players playing that game in VR. I imagine there is less uptake of individual horror games in VR, firstly because they are scary as hell on VR (from personal opinion) and secondly because there is a large selection of games like that already. F124 only has GT7 to compete against and F124 would offer something very different with it having real life drivers and a proper real life championship to take part in with actual qualifying and standing grid starts.
Just looking on the comments for F124 on EA F1 twitter (sorry, X), the most requested things appear to be better graphics, more realism with the physics, better helmet design and PSVR2 support. There is a target audience of 1.3 million PSVR2 users (maybe more) if they add the support. Those are not small numbers. Now is a better time than any with GT7 being the only racing game available for it currently.
Personally, I think F1 game sales would have a better chance of improving by adding a feature that is actually adding something significant to the game rather than adding features like "improved handling" which are purely subjective and seems to be a thing that is added every year. I keep seeing comments that the game hasn't really changed since 2020 (some even saying since 2016) and that year on year sales are in the decline. Think they're missing a trick here to be honest and seem happy enough to offer the bare minimum with their annual updates.
Out of interest, what is needed to improve the career mode? I've not played an F1 game since 2020 and would only play career mode, but I don't know what more I'd personally want from it. Seemed to have a lot to do in it back in 2020 and didn't really have any complaints about it myself back then. I would definitely want to do the podium ceremony on PSVR2 though. That would be awesome. Is that in there on PC VR?
In the same way you'd only get a racing wheel for racing games, the same pretty much applies to VR headsets for a lot of owners I imagine. I'd have bought PSVR2 for GT7 alone, but I get the added bonus of enjoying other games in VR too. The GT Planet forum has a thread dedicated to PSVR2 and people have bought just for that and keep doing so based on how well it works. It's impossible to describe just how good PSVR2 is until you've tried it. It still amazes me each time I put the headset on. It's the most logical step forward for gaming unless people are happy with the same flat screen games being repackaged with minimal updates each year.
@superhoops82You will find people are perfectly happy with flat screen.
Evidence is pretty conclusive
@ScarDuck14 I agree, you could buy like 7 or 8 games for the price of a PSVR2… I’ll take the 7 or 8 games and enjoy them on my flat screen.

@TheRagebeardAs im all set up in my lounge. I have my fully reclinable lazy boy type chair and a 55inch screen. No need to pause and lift a headset when I reach for a drink… living the dream
That's the beauty of the PSVR2 my friend. You can press a little button on the headset that instantly lets you see the world around you without having to take the headset off.
Also, to clarify, I'm not anti-flat screen at all. Just at least try PSVR2 before making grand statements that no one wants it, because there are a lot of people who do, but can't afford it.
@superhoops82Im not making grand statements at all. Everything I’ve posted is based on statements made by industry including Sony.
It’s also not that people can’t afford to buy it. It’s people can’t justify paying £500 on something they don’t need to play games.
im not the one guessing by saying 100000 people will buy 24 if it had support.
I’ve been saying exactly what Lee Mather has said… over a year before he said it.
@ScarDuck14 I think a good question then is, why have sales of the F1 game been in steep decline? Then, what can they do to try and change that? My guess is people will say is that the game hasn't offered anything majorly new in the past 4 years (maybe more). You and some others on here may not want PSVR2 support, but there is a circa 1.3 million user base for the game to tap into that is crying out for another racing game.
Of course, any estimates at sales figures are going to be pretty much a stab in the dark, but the 100,000 isn't just a random figure plucked out of the air, but at least based on PSVR2 usage for other games available.
Outside of my desire for them to support PSVR2, I do hope they make the game better for flat screen users, whatever that many variations of better is to the customer. I'm not on here to criticise what they're adding or what other people want them to add, but more what they aren't willing to add at this stage.

You're deluded to push your personal agenda like that. Cloud cuckoo land.

The second biggest topic on the main page with nearly a hundred comments now. I think its time to stop banging the drum of only 0.1% of people would use this feature and get it in the game, as people obviously want this feature. Also VR is about to have resurgence in the market with some great games about to launch so give them another reason to go out and buy that headset. I think codemasters and EA would be surprised by how popular this would be to the wider market not just the people who buy F1 games every year.
@lufc100It’s got this big because a few keep saying they want it and I and a few other keep getting sucked into replying why they won’t get it… don’t let the number off posts fool you. It’s just going round and round because those who want vr can’t grasp why they are not getting it
@lufc100 they’re not going to be able to add it into the game in the next two weeks before launch, and even if they agreed to add it as a post launch up date the implementation would be rushed and haphazard at best.
@MeteoreNo no no. It’s not a debate between users. All I’ve done is explain why psvr2 won’t be added, using information from industry sources including Sony and now Lee Mather.
I’m not arguing which is better one or the other. I have no doubt psvr2 is awesome and more immersive. But majority of people are more than happy with flatscreen.
Because there are billions of PCs and millions more VR headsets for pc.

Please elaborate. I'd like to hear your detailed thoughts if you can spare the time?
Come on, guys...
EA has tons of info and insights about the gaming market and gamers preferences. Easy to presume that if this implementation was really profitable in terms of compressing it into a already tight development schedule, perhaps leading to other improvements being dropped, it would be already done.
Not to mention that developing in PCs is way easier than on consoles, actually this could be the no-go for PSVR2.
Time is expensive and maybe we need to look the bigger picture.
Why doesn’t codemaster let a extern studio port the vr mode and sell it as dlc like they did with dirt rally on ps4?
@ha6hk3w77mwjThis is just me guessing based on everything we know including Lee Mather saying it’s hard to pour resources developing something that has a niche market and that’s why there wre no plans to add PSVR2… Because it’ll cost money and they obviously don’t think they will see a return on their investment.
Same discussion as last year fella
@ha6hk3w77mwjLook at the lack off interest after the launch…. 600k at first but only a 1m after a year. Not exactly numbers for any one to get excited about. And 10% you’re guessing. I have GT7 and a flatscreen
I admit I’m guessing but 200k games won’t get sold… it’ll be closer to 2 million. Maybe as high as 5.
@ha6hk3w77mwjSo from a source I trust. F1 22 sold around 7 million copies. Although I trust it as there is no hard data it could be wrong.
