F1 24 is better than F1 23

I just went back and played 23 for the first time since 24 launched. I have played both games extensively. 23 felt boring in comparison. The cars feel slower in general in 23. steering much more slugglish. so much understeer. And its not as fun in 23 with less options to adjust ERS levels mid race. 24 graphics are nicer overall as well. Also 23 was pretty buggy for me today, more than 24.

So ya I really think 24 is an improvement over 23 overall.

24 is unfairly bashed far too much. Just now I had a bunch of nice 5 lap online races with quality drivers. Very fun.

@1_Elipsis_1The words were. It’s becoming increasingly problematic me being associated with EA. And it be better for me not to have badge so i could criticise as much as i wanted. What would have been better for them is if the feedback from players, content creators and E-sports I constantly raised since 22. Telling them. These were legit issues with game from across the entire community. I even watched YouTubers that I don’t like so everything and everyone opinions without personal bias i was hopeful about at first would be addressed. Yeah that hope almost died.

Except there was one Dev that took criticism on chin. Didn’t hide. Instead for entire life cycle off F1 22 he posted constantly on his Q&A. Replying to pretty much every post and openly stating some off players suggestions including my own comments about pad players issues. Were doable and would find their way into his  model Following year out off box F1 23. Beta forum on first day. Was overwhelming praise for the handling model that the man the myth the legend @DavidGG53  gave us.  He told me day before beta opened. Telling I will be pleasantly surprised.    Dudes been chain smoking big fat Cuban cigars ever since.

  • @ScarDuck14 Lol thats hilarious. Ive seen you around here for a long time yes. My account has also been banned for a while now because of unpleasant comments ^^. And i have to use VPN with new account because otherwise I cant even enter the forum.

@1_Elipsis_1 If you are who I’m thinking off. I’d say literally 100 times more than one. You are infamous in the place I was once liked. Then call a woman attractive and make a joke poking fun related to initial Google Gemini Ai controversy. Targeting myself as the but off joke. Forget that I used to put full time hours every week for free. Trying to help F1 game and primarily players. Last year i spent more hours testing trying to recreate bugs players posted that i knew wouldnt be fixed to see if I could find workarounds or alternatives. But apparently in EAs eyes it’s fine to use gambling mechanics in games that kids play. Talking to daughters boyfriend he and most off his mates spend hundreds every year on fifa. Never mind game after game is a bugfest. Stripped to bone off content. Until game just manages Minimum viable content to be able to charge AAA prices. No no no. Openly say you saw an extremely attractive woman where you wouldn’t expect. Or quip I’d have to wear a mask in fear Broken Ai will attempt to nerf my awesome game play. And Hero to Zero in less than 30 minutes. Then straight after I got a ban on hear because saying foreign politicians… Used in it’s proper context and isn’t in anyway derogatory anywhere in the world except here.

That’s how valued the customers are. Get rid off those who give free time trying to help players with issues that shouldn’t even exist. Maybe it’s cause poorly educated middle aged man who wants to as he likes to help others esp F1 gamers. In his free time was doing more for the community than those whose job it is. Not only is Ai a threat but now stupid old volunteers 😂

I feel a incoming hammer in the distance

Have to point out. And I’ll stand by Groguet and Vendcera and defend them always. They are doing everything they can on their end. Fact.

far too many people suffer with playing with medium and no tc and are overall trash racers and highly inconsistent. so many people would be better off using full tc and using abs. with full tc and abs on you have ultimate confidence of having full control of the car. trying to drive with no tc at a high level is like constantly being on a knife edge. medium tc is quite terrible as well very unforgiving getting on the throttle slightly early.

jarno proved in one of his videos not long ago that full tc was barely slower a lap vs. no tc. a video of his with him at mexico. the main problem is bullying in leagues towards those using full tc which isnt right. even many leagues not allowing people to use full tc even though they are really good solid clean racers with full tc. part of that is certain no assists or no tc guys cannot stand someone beating them using medium or no tc. these kind of guys are convinced anyone who uses full tc is trash and they are wrong.

@kevincal40 Over years people have posted on here or back on Codies forums. Obviously seeking a little help and guidance. More than you’d expect. People were almost apologetic and asking not to be hated on when they mentioned they were using assists. And not so much now. But when game sold good numbers and especially on codemasters forums. Elitist were always lurking to pounce. But Elitists couldn’t help but shoehorn in a every opportunity they use zero assists top 1% time trial can lap 110 Ai in a 5 lap race using only the brake pedal on their SimRig that costs thousands upon thousands and for that reason alone the game should be specifically designed exactly for them.

Around the time I became ever present. And my love off chat and banter I got to befriend based OG regulars that organically would call out and mock elitist Git Gudery and defend all legit players and play styles and levels. The settings and assist are there to help people adjust the game so noobs the Aliens can get as little or as much as they want or need.

Wasn’t long before Elitists realised no one cared about how great elitists were. Especially when they offered no practical help to people other than “skill issue” “Git Gud”. From self proclaimed elites with all the high end gear but F1 simcade is as far sim as they go. Skill issue is just because someone buys the best SimRig doesn’t make them or entitle them with skill.

For a time Elitist would always post how great they are at release off new game. Until witty mocking banter quickly shut them down

This year i havnt seen many Elitists. More moderate range off pad and wheel players: But this year game sales are a disaster apparently and the likely reason is another year another bad release. Less players.

My final thought. If you have no ambition becoming a competitive racer and like me. To old, bad eyes and I’m only going to get slower. I’ll race careers modes. Offline. Allyou have to worry about is getting what you want or have time for. All assists 0 Ai 110ai. Set. Game to you

If you play public lobbies. Expect bad drivers and bad intentions. It’s public lobbies that a 5 year old can access. Don’t let it stress you out.

If you want to race against players that take racing and keeping out cheats seriously. For the overall enjoyment off everyone. Best option is join a league. Plenty to choose from amateurs to pros. With various leagues having varying assists options. However the downside is setting aside and being available at specific time and day every week.

If you fancy yourself as a future E-Sports champion. But a beginner levels off skill. I’d suggest Time Trial. Concentrate on getting consistent laps times lap after lap across different types the tracks. Then if you were using assists. Turn FullTC instance down to med. and repeat lap after lap. Then turn off another assist and repeat. Also race Ai in career or GP. To help get used to racing other cars. Once you’ve got yourself good pace. With or without assists then. Attempt racing real people.

Some will say I’m wrong and jump in at the deep end no assists and public lobbies. Yes but that will result in rage, sweat and frustration and only learning that race public lobbies are more likely to hate on the game

@ScarDuck14 sage advice and glad you’re still hanging around here - so many have moved elsewhere from the earlier years

Assists are needed to learn and my goal was to turn them off but it took a few years early on and now long gone. My aim was to be a bit purist and get some taste of driving F1 machines so a rig, cockpit view no assists was my goal. But I’ll never was or will be beating the 110 AI or the aliens - not the point as too old

I’d say TC and ABS are the assists that should be tolerated/permitted in most situations. Without good throttle and brake mechanical control on your chosen device its hard to be conisistent so those assists are useful and needed sometimes to compensate. The rest can be dsipensed w thru practice easily enough

But  should using the ABS/TC be faster than without, all else being equal? Conventional wisdom long said no IRL, may be debatable today but as its not in F1 how to set the strength of it in the game? Would Stroll beat Alonso or Checo beat Max if they had ABS and TC in the same car? If the difference was percieved as fair then maybe not such an issue?

In the game though I want to know what who I’m competing with is using, so filters on TT, races etc are needed to at least compare

@1_Elipsis_1 There is no "run the game as it should be" . Everyone is free to play the game like they want.

Since years I do full seasons (50%) with friends (in the last years, coop mode) WITH some assists and we are happy with the game like never before.
The handling is so much better and less understeery. The new features of the career mode are fun and make the expierence deeper.
Surely, here are a lot of problems left. Its no secret that we bought the game after 10 patches because the release version is so bugged. This is a problem in many games.

But now our first look of the game is so much more positive than it was the years before.
