F1 has never been in a better state! (save for some minor things)
Hi guys,
I don't know what you think about it, but after my first contact with Expert difficulty, I can safely confirm that F1 24 has never been in a better state than before, not even in 2020, which is what I never expected from an F1 game developed by EA SPORTS.
The new handling is awesome. It basically builds on the handling that F1 23 had at launch, but it received lots of tweaks and improvements to make it feel realistic like never before, and even on a controller, it's very nice to drive, even on preset setups. This is by far the best handling that an F1 game ever had, and I wish F1 2020 had it too...
Fighting with the AI is satisfying because the rework in aerodynamics like slipstream, DRS and pretty much everything in-between makes it easier to keep up if you're in the slipstream of the car in front. Perfect example is the race in Zandvoort that I played recently, in which I fought George Russell and Verstappen for a few laps until the pit stop phase. Attacking and defending has become more vital than ever, especially if you have to defend on a very long straight.
Also, it's super cool to be able to play a Driver Career with real drivers. The last time it was possible was F1 2015, so it's been nine years since the last time we could play a career season with a real driver. I'm currently en route to score Lewis Hamilton's eighth title, and when I start the Two Player Career, I'll play with Oliver Bearman.
Now, if only the remaining bugs were fixed (e.g. dry tires apparently faster when DRS is disabled due to damp conditions) and if the game had a means of earning Pitcoins without spending real money for them, then this would be by far the best F1 game ever, which I totally did not expect considering that F1 23 was the absolute worst.
Let's hope for a bright future for F1 24.
Good day,
Nico
