Being a football fan as well, I've always liked to have football games, and I've played them since about 2006. PES with Konami were amazing games in that time, but clearly EA made a huge step up with Fifa 06 and onwards clearly passing Konami's games. Career modes were amazing, had a lot of depth, and for the time gameplay was good. Since about Fifa 17, the game has been all the same, and I stopped playing it around 2021. I remember that I got more attached with the PES that went out in 2020 because with modding I could pretty much have the same gameplay with stadiums and other things that FIFA had. And on top of that I payed less than half the FIFA game at the time. For now I just stay with FM.
Now what does this has to do with F1? Well, EA is just making the game their style, the style that made FIFA get so many money throughout the last years. I'm still waiting to see when we will get some sort of Ultimate Team in F1 with a pay to win system.
In other aspects, we can't really compare this games to sim racing games like AMS2, IRacing or AC, because this game is to be able to play by everyone at all ages with different types of controllers, things that can't be done in those racing games that I mentioned. Plus, those games do not have early releases making it easier for devs to put more effort to the game, because they do not have a deadline to follow. I've just bought AMS2 and can say the game feels way better than the F1 games (something that I would expect from a pure sim) but they are close to put out a big update to a lot of mechanics in the game that are what F1 games need to do. Weather update, AI behaviour, physics update. In a game that is released every year I expect that what's good stays and that they improve/add things in that same game, while removing what really does not matter. And right now, they're doing the exact opposite, removing important things, like rain physics, downgrading the handling and adding stuff no one needs or asks. I'm not expecting F1 25 to have not even half of the things most mentioned here. I'm not even mad if F1 World is there again, I just expect that we have a good handling, AI fun to race against and good enough physics, things that really impact the gameplay. And in the future, be able to get a better game with the base they get from F1 25.

AI is a multiprong issue.
1. Consistent race to race and session to session ( plus or minus the usual human variation) weather to weather.
Maybe a preseason test to suggest an AI and then FP1 requires you to do a race sim and FP2 a qualy sim in the right weather conditions to help hone the AI for when it counts.
2. AI strategy- this can be some percent chance a driver starting in a particular spot chooses a different tyre and things like over or under cut stops.
3. Good racing- this is the tough one, fair blocking, ERS deployment, knowing where to try a pass and where to hold off. I have no suggestions here on how to train the AI other than watch some real racing.

@TomasSlb24 Im a fan of the FIFA franchise it has been the same copy and paste for a few years now I still buy it for updated kits and that type of stuff.
On the F1 game, I understand it will never be a pure sim game. The whole ask is to get rid of the gimmicks and get back to the basics. Why is time being wasted on those things when there is alot more core gameplay elements that need work. Effectively we are all buying a beta game with the hopes it gets better but usually just gets worse over time.To his point how did we go from a huge upward trend of classic cars, short tracks, classic tracks, etc. to what we have now and it all seems to line up with EA buying codies.
EA has crushed franchise after franchise, FIFA, F1, NASCAR (back in the day), Madden, even the new CFB a game that's been in development for years is underwhelming with the issues it was having with core player movements. Its just copy & paste revenue chasing with little to no innovation.
Iracing made a console sprint car game which was awesome the physics were legit the AI racing was solid, the customization was really good. For the non Sprint car fans give it a go dirt track racing is really fun. Iracing also got the rights to the NASCAR franchise which will be really telling how far we can push Arcade sims to keep it fun for controller players and wheel players.
I do play console and pc, Im gonna give the AMS2 a go as I have been hearing good things
Ive pre ordered for many years for F1 this year I was not planning on pre ordering but they had me with the new physics (which Im one of the seemly few who did enjoy it). Next year IDC what the new thing is they wont be getting my money unless I read or see good things after the 1st patch seeing as that's always were it starts going south- 5 months ago
@BbtrushSo like me, you understand that EA getting this game was gonna have the same path FIFA games have now. How many years has the community asked for countless things, either for career mode or UT and they barely listen to it?
It's exactly how you say it, we had so many good things in F1 19 and F1 20, the game was looking to have a bright future, and out of nowhere, every good thing this game had, just seems to be vanishing.
AMS2 is not the best sim racing game at the moment, I would say IRacing is the best for online and AC is the best to put some mods and play different tracks and cars. But AMS2 devs put work and time in the game, they listen to the community and improve what can be improved, without removing things that are needed into what's important, and that's racing.
And now a big update seems to be coming that will put that game in probably the same level as IRacing (I hope).Quick edit: They should have a serious debate about working with modders, the fact games like AC, AMS2 and others have the game moddable so new tracks can be added, new cars can be added helps the game to be better. I know licensing probably does not allow that, but for this games, that are a lot of mods that help this game keep some part of the community active.
