What ScarDuck said, with all due respect, I can't agree. I understand what he's saying, but we should not be waiting 1 month to see if the games work or not. The games should be 99% ready to play. Bugs are part of it, every game gets released with them, in this era. But a game should be in a state that the basics actually work, not what we have in F1 24.
The problem now is that the DEADLINE is not viewed as a problem anymore. Back then every company saw the deadline has a problem, because the game had to be released as playable as possibly and patching the game was, well, not an easier thing as it is now.
And EA/Codemasters are being penalized every year that passes. We see that sales are going down, and even if next years game gets better, the sales at the start will probably go down again. That's why F1 25 is do or die. If it hits, F1 26 can be a big one. If it's a bust, then it's' over.

I personally think EA have caused themselves a lot of problems going forward after the state of F124. For many and me included, I've lost a lot of trust in them.
There has been a downward trend in sales since they took over from Codemasters. There may be many reasons for that, but for many it's just how poor the games have become since they got involved.
I think we have to not only just look to see how bad F124 was and still is, but also F122. Whilst nowhere near as bad as F124, it was a massive step backwards from F121, which I believe was mostly Codemasters good work. F121 was excellent and by far the best of them all over the more recent titles and the correlation is clear why, EA weren't fully involved!
F123 had it's flaws, but was seriously on a different level compared to F124. But again not as good as F12020 and F121.
By EA introducing the huge disaster which was F1 Life, followed by F1 World and now things like Fanzone, people have had enough. Especially when there are so many basic things that can be dramatically improved.
I have absolutely no idea why or who comes up with these gimmicks and thinks it will be just what we all want. It's so far detached from what we all want and that's the truth.
I'd absolutely love to hear their explanation for how we arrived at F124. It has absolutely nothing in it whatsoever. We have gone from classic cars, more circuits, breaking point (I never played it) but at least it was something. Much more helmets, much more general customisation and better handling models. All F124 has to offer is a supposed all new career mode, which lets face it is more like a little bit of polish. Hardly new and ground breaking is it?
F124 has been a massive disappointment and a kick in the teeth for those who wasted £90 on it. They released a game which was never ever tested properly, absolutely terrible AI, worst handling model ever made, decimated the store of race wear and the turnaround time to fix the most absolutely glaring bugs is desperately slow.
How can we go from a game like F12020 and F121 to F124? The game has been completely striped back with less content that ever. Is it any wonder why sales are down?
EA, it's time you actually started listening to the people in this community and stop trying to come up with tacky and meaningless features that do not belong in an F1 game!
Instead focus on the core of the game and get that much better as a primary priority. F125 absolutely has to be so much better.

Why are you all making the game so bad? I actually think it's very good. You could add a bit more, like online training to compare yourself and build good setups. Unfortunately, there is no tire wear in time trials. It would also be nice if you could set the wheel suspension differently. The menu should definitely be changed so that you can choose the weather before the time trial. The cars drive very well otherwise, so don't make everything bad, because it isn't. I'm almost 60 years old and if I can handle it well, young people should be able to handle it too. I drive with a controller on an AI strength of between 85 and 90, so please don't tell me the game isn't good

Nobody asked for the weather in TT to be dropped. Plenty complain about the wet weather visual effects. It's clear which was....pulled.
Nobody asked for the handling to be revised, but plenty did during / after F1 22. FFB implementation has been a bit of a bugbear but it seems the whole handling model has taken a direction that no one asked for. Primarily a controller game. EA can see the number on this. QED.
Nobody asked for F1 World but this is just a clear move to align F1 with other franchises into maximising in-play revenue streams. Simple US 'upselling' technique. How about a compelling case to actually BUY the game? I'm talking about GAMEPLAY and CONTENT (a lot removed for F1 24) and maybe even PERSISTENT BUGS FIXED?
That's the request from the community, largely ignored by those in charge of direction. I write this as the game is currently half-price. Effectively cheaper than the first version I bought in 2010. But it's still unattractive and I own every single version since then....except for this "dumpster fire".

The game is far from good, the majority of feedback on here alone, not including social media is the most negative I've ever seen, but fully deserved.
A yearly franchise game will always be compared to the previous versions. In F124, we have by far the single worst game they have ever produced in my opinion.
The game has so many issues and was just rushed out without due care and attention. It was never tested in the way it should have been.
Shockingly poor AI (DRS trains).
Absolutely terrible handling (especially now on controller).
Ferrari engine sound is a joke.
TV replay sounds do not match the visuals.
The store has been completely decimated of race wear items.
In addition the amount of bugs this year is a record high. When you factor in that a lot of loyal customers have paid absolute top price for this game, the criticism is fully expected.
The problem is EA are so fixated on prioritising meaningless drivel like Fanzone and F1 world the main core of the game has been completely neglected.
Absolutely nowhere near good enough!

You said it.
What I like relatively well is the handling, as a steering wheel driver on the PC. Driving is somehow more fun than in the predecessors, although I think there was more feedback at release (v1.2). At least the steering behavior is no longer as spongy as in the predecessors.
But that's about it. A lot of money for nothing.
I want a real simulation mode with a real test track that you can drive on completely without autopilot, I want to be able to use my bit-point clutch all the time or try it out beyond the starting lights, in any weather.
I want to be able to enjoy a replay with sound - yesterday I drove a complete lap of Interlagos in fifth gear at 100 km/h without changing gear. In the replay, it sounded as if I was driving at 300 km/h and constantly shifting down and up again. So much for the “realistic TV experience”.
Include in-game telemetry, at least for the most basic things like locking wheels, underbody contact, optimum revs in which area, gears driven and speed.
And last the experiments with track sounds, certainly sounds good as an MP3, but never matches the pictures 100%. Take the predecessors and refine the Doppler effect, that's enough. And by the way, any onboard sound sounds exactly the same as it does when driving. So the T-Cam sounds the same as the helmet cam or the nose cam. Once set to driver, everything sounds the same. It wasn't like that before either.
We don't need casual clothes, no furniture (F1 23), it's not “The Sims”, it's F1 and it should be a simulation of real racing this side of the track.
It's all been there before. Even a much better rain mode.
I can only agree that F1 24 is a real disappointment in every respect.

@c62a35f65d81694fAgreed some great ideas there. I'd also prefer a more sim orientated game. But unfortunately with EA now at the helm, I can't see that ever happening.
But even though we probably won't get that, there are still so many basic things that can and should be dramatically improved.
Without doubt, they need to turn their focus on improving the core base of the game. Get the fundamentals right in the first place and forget about the pointless gimmicks!
It's good that the handling has improved for wheel players and I'm honestly happy it has. However for controller players (majority) including myself it has now become awful. It's barely enjoyable to drive. Just feels so unrealistic and detached from the track compared to F123.
A more realistic experience is needed for sure. If for F125, they implemented more helmets, testing sessions prior to a season start. Better overall sounds, improved handling for all players and better AI. Then everyone would probably take that right now. Throw in a more realistic wet weather experience too.
This entire thread was intended to gather people's feedback. I really hope it's being listened to and not just dismissed whilst they counjour up more unrealistic nonsense for F125. - 4 months ago
I don't have a glorious idea. Separate pads from wheels? Optional? With or without assistants, it would amount to the same thing.
I can only speak for myself. I just really like driving and it should feel as real as possible. Yes, I have Dirt Rally as well as CMR and I'm currently playing WRC.
And I like looking at how and why I flew into the bushes somewhere. But as usual, nothing is together. WRC has still totally screwed up with the night driving, especially again since 2.1.
F1 with the sound.Unfortunately, you can't watch it. Worse still, I find myself adjusting my driving style more and more often so that it sounds halfway believable in the replay. Completely the wrong way. I drive a little differently to the blueprints. From then on, it's no longer really fun, although there is some potential.
Apart from that, Career is a total mess in this case alone, because the rear-view mirrors are so far apart that you can't even see them on a 21:9 monitor and all the AI cars are still driving around with uniform white paintwork.
Yes, rain looks lousy this time, there is still no spray like in GP4 or F1 99, although the wet tracks have almost reached the level of GP4 (release June 2002). Just without drying tracks.
I don't know, I'm actually pissed off to have spent 90 Eur on this for a completely flawed game with zero content.

I know, ACC comes damn close to a sim. But something is missing there too. But you can't blame the creators, they're always developing, fixing bugs and, above all, they don't charge orbital prices. But they don't have a license for WRC or F1 either ☹️

@c62a35f65d81694fGP4, GP3 and GP2 where great back in the day. I played them all and drove in some of the best leagues around (with a wheel). These days I'm just a casual player using a pad with a friend on two player career. We are currently half way through our season in F123 at the moment. We also did F121 and F122 as well.
I'm actually dreading our F124 two player career when we eventually get there. It's something I'm just not looking forward to given the endless list of debacles with it.
I'm really hoping by then a lot more has improved with patches. Handling for controller for me is huge, it's just absolutely awful currently. And of course the AI being still terrible even after 4 months.
Yes, the wet weather is massively lacking in realism. Like you correctly said, not much better if at all than GP4.
And this is the frustration, why don't they just concentrate on fixing and improving the basics first. The base game could be so much better even on this older game engine.
You can clearly see the direction EA are going with it though. They are much more focused on this live season garbage and challenges to win real driver helmets. I along with a lot of other could not care less about this. I want my own helmets!
For all of us playing an F1 game, we want to fully immersive ourselves into our sport and have as much realism as possible.
They are operating in a different place completely to what we all want. After F124, I have lost all confidence in their ability to actually produce a game that offers a more realistic insight into F1. Instead we will have more gimmicks like F1 World and Fanzone which is utterly pointless and unrealistic.
If they do not bounce back with a good game in F125, I'm done! - 4 months ago
Yep, simply driving for the sake of driving is no longer an option.
Instead of getting something new with every franchise, we get less and less. Or the whole thing goes really slowly with pressure in “the sims”.
F1 25 could then be full of leisure wear and Ikea furniture, a bunch of speech bubbles and similar garbage.
It's a pity, I still enjoy (unfortunately only the lonely one in TT) the feeling of doing laps, F1 as well as WRC, but you don't have to invest 90€ when you can get much better service elsewhere with 19€. I think the 29.99 was the last investment (WRC 24 addon), I'm really disappointed with EA and CM alike.

Annoying, spent a lot of money on Fanatec for Rally and F1, a new graphics card in the hope that we'd get really cool sims.
But no, I could have spent the money on “The Sims” for all the parts and saved some for a rainy day.
Then I would probably have bought some furniture and clothes last year.

Even when they drop a livery into the store it is just not done properly to my eyes.
Take Voyager Rose and Fresh Strike as examples. Both could have been great classic liveries but for Voyager rose they made the stripe very thick at the back. It’s still useable but not quite right. Fresh Stike would have been useable if they didn’t clutter it with the stripes going over the pods.
I know they are trying to be unique and creative but there were great liveries in past editions. Maybe if there were more colour options so you can make the stripes dissappear but I feel a slow close but no cigar reaction to both these otherwise good liveries.
The helmets suits and gloves are the same problem, no thinking what would a real team have on their car that is classic looking
- 4 months agoHow about fixing the game instead of being lazy and saying it will be fixed in future games.....
You are leaving Spain undrivable for league racing due to the bump and you just can't be bothered to fix it.
Class company - IanM2824 months agoSeasoned Ace@tjmartin-92 Couldn't have said it better myself. Absolutely inexcusable!
- IanM2824 months agoSeasoned Ace
That says one thing to me only. They haven't got a clue how to fix it! F124 is getting worse. A complete and utter shambles throughout!
To be fair, My Team and Career work, just not better than before. I think Brazil is fixed and I do get safety cars.
On line may be a mess and they have not given customization options and for at least 4 of the 16 tracks I have to turn down the AI 10 lower than the other 12 tracks and the engineer disappears for some races and after I return to a save game my tires are cold again mid race but I wouldn’t say an utter shambles
- 4 months ago@tjmartin-92 Since my post was taken down ill re word
The game is so bad now, they refuse to fix it. Laughable
Good luck to all, Ill check in next year when the next dumpster fire is released to read all the same topics.
