Will the game still be on ego or is it on a new engine?

I read the reviews and it is on PC where the review said that side by side the EGO games were actually visually superior at this point.

But optimisations for speed (on UE) might have sacrificed the visuals. Once the devs learn the ropes I’m sure it might mean the end to the type of bugs we see with gameplay. Might become different types of bugs, but hey.

They intimated the EGO engine was reaching its limits (with map sizes specifically) but if the stuff is brimming the pot then that’s when spills occur.

@SteveJackson I was thinking performance issues maybe be a case off new game on a new engine that is or was unfamiliar to Codemasters after years of using EGO. Plus with WRC apparently not as popular as it once was. Im guessing the money men crunched the numbers and came up with a disappointingly smaller development budget than the team had hoped. As the game is noticeably lacking in things that doesn’t directly affect gameplay. Such as cinematic cutscenes.

  Absolutely. But I also think the devs will be different because of the layoffs. Might take time for the new team to do more with less. 😇

WRC looks great, I doubt they will change the engine for F1 24. But let's see, soon we will know more 😀

  Absolutely love WRC. It’s frustrating when you fly off the side off a mountain. But the cars are so fun to drive. When you get it right. You, well I shout out “I AM THE GOD OF GODS”

    @ScarDuck14 I enjoyed the gameplay of WRC (except Greece, the cliffs of death that exist pretty much everywhere can go you know what themselves) as it does feel really good when you get it right. But the career mode kind of killed it for me, the way it was structured was kind of weird and the UI layout was hard on the eyes. Also the upgrade system seemed weird as I was able to buy all the best parts so then it was just a matter of upgrading my staff so they could repair the car during events.
    Maybe I should have given it more of a chance but it turned me off pretty quickly, so hopefully they don't use that as the model for F1's new career mode IMO.
