@dwin20 well it's the weekend so some of the necessary staff were out of office so it took a little while, that said I'm not worried about it.

A: 40,000 views isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things.

B: Most of the people who watched that video we're probably already looking for a reason to bash the game.

C: If someone signs a legal agreement, in this case an NDA, and then turns around and breaks that NDA at the first possible opportunity... a logical and sensible person would classify them as an untrustworthy source.

I feel you are not really seeing the big picture and statements like "40000 views in the grand scheme of things etc" is showing a bit of an arrogant reaction. It's 40000 views on a leak. In my opinion these are a lot. Only imagine the word of mouth. They probably play with friends and also have a number of online friends that they will share the information with. The number will grow exponentially. Of course is the first beta test but from what I saw in some groups I am in, everyone who played it was really disappointed! This is what EA should take from it and this is where you should focus. It's like last year's test, people were reporting a number of issues that are still not fixed! Like the homicidal AI, Logitech Trueforce not being supported on XBOX, etc. You ignored these bugs and didn't attempt to fix them. I mean it's an expensive game to buy and you should be trying to improve it by listening to your customers. The moment you stop listening to them, you will start losing them. It's as simple as that. I am a person who used to preorder the game, I participate in online Leagues and I have played endless hours. After the bugs in 23 and the fact that a lot of meaningful bugs didn't get fixed I promised my self I am not pre-ordering it ever again. At minimum I will wait for day one comments and 2-3 patches to roll out before I buy it. This is because in my eyes the game releases are unreliable to say the least and I feel that I pay 80 to be a tester...

@tasmangr77  As my tag indicates, I'm a community volunteer, not an EA staff member. I have no control or influence over what direction the game takes. I'm just here to help answer questions and manage the message boards.

I apologize if my remark regarding 40,000 views came across as arrogant, I was merely trying to reassure Dwin20 that the leak wasn't the end of the world. Perhaps I could have phrased it differently or done something different altogether.

I would agree, waiting until the game is released and we have actual gameplay footage and actual reviews from credible reviewers is the smartest strategy when deciding whether or not to purchase a game.

@TheRagebeard  I thought 40,000 was still significant given the likely universe of a topic like this - but it was certainly not “viral” - to your point.

I thought your second point was very important. Most of the comments made were quite negative and most made by people who were not in the beta. They were complaining about things not necessarily related to the beta - but longer term grievances. That tended to feed other incoming comments that ended up being negative as well.

However there were a few comments that were more positive. A couple of them specifically addressed the need to work through car setups to get the car to feel good. For me, this is an important plus, meaning there is a focus on making the handling and telemetry better. The reference items mentioned were engine braking and some of the setup attribute numbers being changed.

The implication from the more positive statements was that maybe some of those commenting negatively had just jumped into the beta and got to an immediate conclusion.

But, as I have said in another topic, I think it would be helpful if EA/Codemasters would have a David Greco-like person to walk through questions and comments soon. He was both helpful and knowledgeable prior to, and after the release last year.

@dwin20 The development team including David’s predecessor are actively engaging on the beta boards. Game is still in beta thus a work in progress.

Closed Beta leaks always happen. This year remarkably less than last year.
