@IanM282 I only know one off the guys from Rally dev team. He’s never said anything that indicates they are more or less passionate that the F1 guys. Except I do know he’s extremely passionate about Rally and the games he’s
worked on. But it’s a funny thing. There were a lot off issues with WRC when it released: and had both Richard burns rally and Dirt 2.0 fanboys hating on it. But as it was my first Rally game. Cars handling was exhilarating and made you feel like a Rally God…. The game is most definitely not a hardcore sim.. Well kind off. If the cars didn’t handle like they do. You would never make it through a stage because one hand we are driving a beast off a car that feels good but not arcade. After playing for a few hours it was obviously deliberate: Give the player the ultimate weapon: Because to balance it out every inch off every single Rally stage. Over 500 miles in all. Would, could and did kill you just cause it could. When I finished my first stage win with any damage to be repaired I was jumping up and down and shouting at the telly . Havnt been that aggressively happy in years. And still when I play it now. I’m making weird little noises the entire time. Even when I fall down a mountain and to my doom Insite off finishing line…. You can only just giggle and jokingly call the devs naughty things. You can’t rage about it. They game me the perfect tool for job. They didn’t make the tree hit me… I hit it.
The shame is what you can tell from the game. They had a grand vision for the game. All the cars are there all the Events with the longest ever stages in a rally game (up to 30km). But what isn’t there are the little elements we like for immersion. The. Core game and gameplay is banging. But graphically it notices. To me but missed by many is it was made on an extremely tight budget. WRC team i truly believe would have delivered on their vision. If they had a development budget like F1games.. it’s sad for me people would say the game is unplayable cause the graphics are not great. I’m glad they are not. If something pretty caught my eye whilst at maximum attack through stage. That insignificant thing would have broke my focus and I’m rolling down another mountain 😂
