No custom car set-up in Two Player Career

My friend and I started a two player/ coop career on F1 24, only to find out that when in a practice or any other session of a race week we are unable to customise our set ups. Instead we’re stuck to the default predefined max downforce, max top spin etc set ups. The icons show a 🚫 sign when trying to customise a set up. 

Reading other discussions this appears to be an issue from last year’s game as well… very poor from EA as you’d think they’d patch it.

Any workarounds on this?
