I've been setting cars up for +25 years in much harder handling models and more realistic games than this.

It makes zero difference to any setup changes. The handling for controller players now feels horrendous. Just look how many complaints there are.

All those other people are wrong then? Regardless of how fast you can be, it's not enjoyable whatsoever and that's the main point here, which you are clearly missing. Nothing to do with speed. It feels horrendous.

OK out of interest what are your controller settings? The defaults are absolutely trash and the changes I had made and found tonnes of time using immediately stopped working post 1.7
There are multiple threads in this forum and tonnes of comments here that are against the 1.7 changes. I have spent hours changing controller settings and adjusting setups and it just feels like garbage. It's like the car is constantly fighting me and correcting my steering inputs (I run no assists)
Not sure how you've found some magic bullet but I am slower in every metric since this patch and I am no slouch on this game
The criticism here is not at all productive. Can anyone define the specific issues?
I currently play on controller, 100 AI and no assists, I’m about 2 tenths up on my team mate, super close racing with the AI, it feels good. The issue is that entire last sentence is basically useless, it’s just my experience, it isn’t defining anything. In the same way that ‘the game is now UNPLAYABLE’ is just a nonsense statement, if I were to say ‘well I can drive it just fine so it’s great’ that would be a weak contribution.
What are the problems exactly? For me it feels pretty good, but I’m not an expert, so I’d be curious to hear an intelligent criticism. Just saying ‘I am now slower’ is meaningless.
i will say that if I don’t use a custom setup it’s actually atrocious. I think it would be a huge improvement to see the default setups actually account for the handling model. Maybe instead of 5 there should be more like 20, featuring different styles - maybe this would be too confusing for casual players idk but the defaults are currently like driving a boat, there’s no snap to them at all.
