Wasn't this the case on F1 23 also though?

I mean, I guess they didn't literally never crash on 23 but it was extremely rare to just get a yellow flag out for an incident involving only AI cars. 

@allemands311 , Sorry, perhaps I took TC's original question out of context. I was referring to the fact that it is a known bug that in career mode the AI never retire.

Given that their retirements usually happen off screen it's always a little vague as to whether it was a mechanical issue or if they collided with another car, but I agree there's generally not a lot of contact between AI cars.

Think because F1 22 they made the Ai bonkers mental… Which I’m one of a tiny minority that loved it.   Some big content creators who have influence complained.   And as ever Codemasters can never find a happy medium.  Bonkers mental to Timid and slow (last year)  Now we have better pace and wheel to wheel….. But so much better they can do 3 wide into a corner without much effort. Unless a human player is there. As Ai only knows what Ai  cars will do before they do it but we are to unpredictable 

when Ai make mistakes such as a random spin.  These are all scripted events.  You can restart race as many times as you like. The same Ai car will always spin at the time and place during a race.  

This is why I like bonkers mental F1 22 Ai as  collisions between Ai were more organic due to they’re lacking in awareness.  But that also resulted in them often driving into human players who hadn’t figured out how they raced(differently to humans)

@TheRagebeard  off screen they do collide.  I will Flashback reply often during a race to see what’s going on elsewhere 

either they don’t receive damage they should or if they really get it wrong they ghost each other.  

most players wouldn’t notice but I’m very odd and turn this game inside out
