slower with steering wheel than controller

hello i'm playing f1 for alot off year with a controller.

but i thought its time for a upgrade, so i buy a playseat with a thrustmaster sf1000 steering wheel and the T-lcm pedals.

but i am now slot slower with the wheel than controller.

when i play on controller i have traction control off and it drives fine.

when i drive with the wheel and i have traction control off it drives like *.

but when i put the traction on medium or high the car is whey more slower than my fastest lap on controller.

What do i do wrong?

the fun is totally gone on this moment.

when i try to go a little bit faster than the car is oversteer like hell and i hit the walls every time.

i hope someone can tell me what i do wrong.

i have also try to drive without brake Assist, but thats not an succes either, and i do the trail brake thing.

Not sure how recently you switched to a wheel setup, but it's going to take time for you to get used to it.  I was really slow and undisciplined for about 3 months or so when I first switched over to a wheel and pedals.  Spend more time with it, start slow and work your way up over time. You'll gradually get more of a feel for it.

I suggest you to directly learn without any assists, or you will have to learn twice. About traction issues you can try shortshift and add some clicks of rear wing to find more stability. You will get used to it 😉

  • It takes time. You can't just expect to be matching your previous ability without practice.
