Still only 2 player career mode, lmao!!!

This was requested for years and years now, that there are a group of 3 or 4 friends who WANT TO PLAY CAREER MODE TOGETHER.

But despite this, its the same with all the other things player long for that they want in the F1 game... its just IGNORED every single year.

Its LITERALLY THE EASIEST THING TO DO EVER, how hard is it to enable 4 players for example being able to be in the career mode, instead of 2? At this point EA is plain making fun of us.

Im seriously done, im not buying f1 24, after so many years of mediocrity im finally done.

I haven't even mentioned the other completely poor things we have that are BASIC like:
-extremely limited options of sorting when looking for online multiplayer matches

-completely the same old 1000 years old outdated engine.

-very weird ai difficulty where there is a big difference in qualy and race in the same ai setting

-extremely odd penalties where u get a penalty for something where the other car should get it because he ran into you

-generally slow loading screens

-no penalties for ppl who crash into you on purpose online (instead of making it a ban of x hours not being able to play if they do it many times on purpose, or some report system)

And countless more

At this point the game is just limping along

  • The problem is they don't really seem to listen to any feedback, I remember this has been requested since a long time ago, that 2 player co-op is not enough because lots of ppl also have a group of 3 or 4 people and want to play together, and its literally the easiest thing to implement, theres absolutely nothing they lose from it.

@TigerAlen410 They do listen to feedback. Now if they act on it, that's a whole different can of beans...

Unfortunately many aspects of game development get locked up or considerably pinched down for the team under the current business model and performance targets.

The sort of pause and reset this franchise needs to fresh out those ideas and flush down a good number of legacy "quirks" (to put it mildly) hasn't been possible up to this day, and I don't see that changing before 2026 for a number of reasons. But charging full price for the iterative entries they've been able to squeeze out isn't doing their reputation any good. Even considering those circumstances, I feel like either game direction is failing or the execution isn't being managed adequately 🙃

Well after watching the deep dive, it seems like most of the new features revolve around contract objective, goals, and accolades, that when completed make you, as a driver, more attractive to teams, or motivate your team to work harder on upgrading the car (ex. bonus R&D points). In short, a lot of this wouldn't carry over to MyTeam. They also went out of their way to specifically say Driver Career Mode like 50 times without ever saying MyTeam.

Also and interesting tidbit I noticed that a lot of others might have missed as it was only on the screen for a moment, but I don't believe you get to spend your teammates R&D points anymore. There was a screenshot of the R&D tree with a part failure and underneath it said MAG failed, which I assume means AI Mangussen had tried to upgrade it without consulting the player.

Very interesting! The question is, what does this mean exactly. In some of the scenes I got the feeling, that I can make upgrades on my own without my teammate. If everyone spends his own r&d points, don't we have two different cars after a while? I can't image that, because this would be extremely unrealistic. What do you think, how this function works? I mean there must be difference to the older games, otherwise they would not change way how to spend the ressource points

@DonBlanko What they meant - imo - is that your (AI) teammate will choose an upgrade to develop themselfes, so can you. But with only onesided approval it will take longer - due to lower resources put into it. But if you want to develop the same upgrade it will be developed faster.

You end up with the same car but development for each upgrade will be faster when you choose the same upgrade, but if chosen seperate upgrades both of you will still get the one the other "driver" has chosen, it just takes longer
