Warming up Tyres
Currently it's not really possible to warm up tyres properly. Especially the formation lap or safety car is not really usable at the moment in my opinion, especially when driving with AI. Maybe there...

I would very much prefer to be able to stay at full tyre model instead of only simulating surface temperatures
I wouldnt expect it to change at all for this game.. The balance changed to surface temps impacting the carcass temps for the biggest part, thus you must keep them high during SC, formation lap and VSC to keep the carcass high. As @Cpayne32 said going at full/high speed will help with the surface temps and thus with the carcass..
On another note you shouldnt worry too much about carcass temps being too low or too high, especially on softer tyres there is no too low as even 70°C give you almost 100% grip, even C3s have around 98.8% grip at 70°C which makes them ~2 tenths slower (rough estimation) which isnt even going to last through the first lap, even with the tyres showing blue or red for too cold/ too hot its not that big of a deal this year! 🙂

Interesting, thank you for the numbers. I already felt, that it's from the grip not too bad, but it just feels very very wrong :D I also informed myself about the optimal temperatures of each specific tire compound. I'm happy that they aren't too easy to keep, but warming up is really weird, I don't know. I'm also sad that brakes have no influence on carcass temperature anymore. But over a percent of grip loss is really not negligible. When I remember correctly, that's the difference between the tyre compounds as a whole.
I for myself won't drive the formation lap anymore (with AI). It's not possible to drive full speed with them when staying in formation. That's a pity, it takes off quite a lot from the immersion in my opinion
