So we’re back to the old problem of the AI not being affected by drag or aero or having unlimited ERS, or a combination of all three. Brand new engine at Suzuka and have a setup that has me going reasonably though the first sector, as in my sector time is reasonable to the cars around me in the R&D chart. I qualify within a few tenths of my teammate and in every practice session I seemed to have a top 10 straight line speed, although speed trap speeds STILL aren’t added to the lap time info so there is no real way to compare them. Come race time and with Overtake pressed on a non-DRS straight I am 3 to 4 tenths slower than the cars around me with comparable cornering speeds.

I have played the game for around 10 hours now and I find the AI to overpowered on the straight and on the exit of the corner because of how good the AI is with the ERS. The AI is just so much faster on the straight because they seem to have unlimited ERS every lap it’s just to overpowered. I’ve seen more people complain about it. Please fix this problem.

As usual, it would be helpful if you could provide as many details as possible. Like, does this in fact only happen in career mode? What is your AI difficulty set at?

@tn132Weight and drag reduction upgrades give better top end speed compared to power: If your behind in either or both off those against other cars. You could be top off power train and they will still fly past.Weight reduction gives best bang for buck. As less weight results in be quicker in slower corners and improves acceleration out off corners plus slight increase in top speed. Drag reduction will greatly improve top end speed as well as acceleration through mid and high ranges.Always best to prioritise weight and drag reduction. Only power train upgrades that are worth doing will be ERS until you’ve made good progress with aero and weightIve just started a career with Williams and car power wise starts almost on par with other teams. Whereas weight and aero are way way behind top 4 or 5 teams. Also when upgrading front or rear downforce: look to upgrade the parts that don’t have negative effects on drag. Front and rear downforce upgrades otherwise increase drag and so reduces top speed

Difficulty doesn’t matter, I’m seeing this as well. I’m having to bring my # down 5-6 points from my qualifying # n order to complete in the races. It’s makes me faster n the corners so I have to be careful not to run into them & then there’re gone n the straight. This has been a common problem w/ this game for a few years.

@dmXDDD Career modes and GP game mechanics are not like for like. Only have to browse the bug boards to see on track gameplay bugs that you would expect to be issues in career and GP. Often only effect one or the other.Regardless wasn’t saying Ai speed wasn’t OP. Was saying you get more speed from drag and weight reduction. Less drag needs less power to reach top end speed. Less weight also needs less power accelerating which also helps getting all the power down easier and faster.Heavier and less aero efficient a car increasingly diminishes the effect of add power.

@Juju_59320 same in Straight line Lance Stroll verstappen same speed so stupid they are... they just need to watch F1 20 or 21 so simple man! worst car should have low top speed or different setups... different team different setups,,, but here their logic in F1 24 is EVERY car speed in Straight line is same.. .This developers are way too poor to fix it

this years AI are the worst in years they are way to fast on straights have way to much traction never make a mistake they drive into you like you dont exsist this game has turned into pure garbage yes the base game could be amazing if the developers would just a little bit of pride into their games and fix something anything at this point i have gone back to f1 23 because this years game is just not fun or exciting and has 1 of the worst AI i think i have ever seen in ANY racing game ive played if your plan is to butcher this game like you do evey other title you have ever touched please let someone else develop it and quit destroying the 1 game i used to enjoy

Was playing 103 AI drop down to 100 AI still SAME Straight line speed. EVEN I HAVE THE DRS BUTTON ON against Williams Sargent hows he fast???? Like EA why bring F1 22 bug in this game Again

@superfastish7 They should have same straight line speed.. AI level is not meant to drop the top speed or full throttle acceleration but braking, getting to full throttle and cornering.
