A little frustration in My Team

It does feel like something they'll bring back for next year.  A little shame it's not this year as it seems to be something that people are clamouring for.  While Lombardi and Wilson aren't for me as I don't particularly rate either of their F1 careers (If Wilsons can be called that), the historical pool of female Icons is exceptionally thin.  I had be expecting to see Susie Wolff a few years ago so Lombardi at the very least has a better claim than that! 

I think the fact that you'd be driving as the F1 Academy driver would mitigate the sub-standard stats they'd have.  It wouldn't matter as much if the rating wasn't great as I don't think the rating actually has any impact on the player-controlled driver.

We can only hope that they don't fiddle with Driver Career too much then if it is doing wonders for your recovery.  Maybe you'll even set a new trend of the preferred physical therapy method being use of a race-simulation rig, as opposed to the current methods, and everyone will be doing it😂! 

Yep the customisable avatar/ or custom icon is a must for next year. And fyi EA if you're reading, if you added Lella Lombardi, or Desire Wilson etc as Icons then I'd be very happy!

As for an f1 Academy driver, if they're a real person and not an idiot then maybe it would be ok, I'd have to try it and find out. This all said I'm having a blast with the driver career this year and all the brake pedal use is doing wonders for the muscle tone in my nearly paralysed left leg. My stroke physical rehab nurse is going to be very happy at my appointment next week!!!! 

I get the general premise and completely agree about the Callie issue, and the lack of female representation problem. I just don't particularly understand the weighting of the flag issue. 

For example, you've been a big exponent of F1 Academy coming in, but I don't recall an Australian woman being in it last year.   If they had included it, would it still be an issue or would the wrong flag mean it was pointless for them to have done so?   

I believe there are one or two Aussie girls doing it this year so it is a moot point for next year if it was to be included and hopefully both factors you aren't satisfied with would be remedied.   Or, ideally the ability to create your own avatar with decent customisation would return.

No the wrong flag is just another nail in the coffin for My Team this year. As I originally said at the top. I mean if I play as the only woman (who is fictional) in the game, then I have to be British, which is wrong flag. If I play as Doohan or Piastri then I'm the wrong gender, 2 nails both different but same length, that coffin lid is definitely shut this year as far as I'm concerned. 

Well yes... but then your problem isn't the flag fluttering behind them on the podium. It's the chromosomes that they possess. 

it's not, as you say, "My flag not someone else's!".  It's "my gender identity, not someone else's". 

Which is completely fine as there is a lack of female representation, but that has very little to do with nationality. 

I suppose this is how Toto, Vasseur, et al. feel to a certain extent. And sice the FIA stopped showing the flag of the constructor, we don’t get that. 

Unfortunately for me personally, no. Piastri and Doohan are aussies too, but they are guys, I'm not. So no thanks.

Well, it is technically someone else.  Like it'd be odd if it was your flag waving behind Hamilton or Hulkenberg because they won the race!  Although that would require Nico to defeat his phobia of steps first. 

I get that it's a thinly-veiled complaint that you can't play as your own avatar in MyTeam anymore, which I understand, as it seems there's a significant amount of people that share that same bug-bear.    In the interests of being marginally helpful; How many drivers in the F1/F2 pool are of the same nationality as you?  Can you live vicariously through them as they'd have your flag?   If the flag is the important aspect, that is?
