Then keep on working mate. 1st season i had 80 AI, finished the season with a 2 pts difference to Vettel. After 1.08 i am going with 83 - Bahrain i had a 0.15 sec difference to Vettel in qualy. Do not use GP mode to find your level. Actually pretty stable the AI level once you have found it.

Last year best way and probably still the best way to calculate your ai is. In career or my team mode if your teammate has a pace rating off 85+. During practice go to race director and compare your time with his when his lap times when on mediums. For every second your faster/slower increase/decrease ai by 10. If your teammate has a lower rating. Go to the closest team in the rankings that has a Driver with 85+ and compare with him Won’t be perfect but will put you in the ball park. Then just fine tune.
Cant be sure this will work as well as last year because off the ai being out off whack. But like I’ve said many a time whenever lando or button were my teammate I’d qualify within half a second off him. And we would finish a 50% race within a few seconds off eachother.
As for F1 2021 I used to run Race Strategy Programme e tune de AI level so I finish every lap +0.3s above target. For shorter or low speed tracks I dropped it to 0/+0.1s, for longer or faster track I let it raise to +0.5s or so. This year I'm letting this times a bit higher as I'm still learning the handlig model.
With some practive I was able to fine tune with 2 FP sessions and worked alright for me.
I build the graph below from my laptimes so I can place a track properly in terms os being short/long and slow/fast.
- Even F1 2021 used the same difficulty as GP mode in career mode, now at 22 the difficulty is a joke.
