AI difficulty keeps resetting

This still hasn't even been acknowledged yet has it? Absolute joke 

I hadn't been back to this post since I made it because I gave up so i'll try the step that someone kindly posted but if anything I think it's got worse.

I just loaded a new save that I started yesterday.

Suddenly the AI are doing 110% times, then when the race starts I'm first by the end of the 3rd lap..... even if the fix works that @sajp16 posted there must be a ton of people doing their nut on this one

Still a problem, I've been remembering to fix it when loading the game lately but recently the game crashed on me at Imola, so now when I go to continue my career it forces me to jump straight to the race, no option to change the setting since it's locked during a session.  So now I'm either stuck waiting for a patch to fix it, restart my whole career, or run the race and know the result isn't valid.  

Anyone know if a fix is in the works or if it has even been acknowledged as an issue?  All searches I've done just lead to more threads like this one, seems like a very widespead issue.  Honestly if it's taking time to debug a super quick fix could be to allow the settings menu to be accessed on the loading screen like it used to be.  

EDIT: Ok, I seem to have fixed it by going to the main menu game settings, changing the race style to casual then back to expert, then back into career mode and it's back to my set difficulty.  I misunderstood the post above with the fix, and was trying to do it from within my career.
