@EA_Barry please barry this is somewhat of a problem like f1 2021 where the ai had massive speed in high speed corners but now its in acceleration out of corners you guys should really look in this problem as i see many people have this problem i even heard tiametmarduk mention it sorta he said in his newest video the ai are really quick but thats because of this problem

We are currently looking for exemples where it is obvious the AI is too fast so if you could share a video showing that, I would pass it on to the team.

Hello @EA_Hux , with a discord group which I'm part of, we did some testing, and it seems the issue lies with the my team mode, the my team car seems to be slower than expected, and people having issues in my team seems to do well in Career mode and Grand prix mode.
We are not sure if the issue lies with the ai or the car in itself, however it is reminiscent of an issue with the toro rosso car and honda engine from f1 2018, wherehas engine upgrades applied to the teammates and not the player. We think we have a similar situation here, it is possible that the game does not apply Factory engine upgrades to the player, but does it to every ai car, hence resulting in this straight line speed deficit.
On average, with a myteam car powered by ferrari or honda, the lap deficit is of around 1 second to the expected lap time.
Hoping that it helps pinpoint the issue !I agree with all of this! It definitely seems to be an issue with the myteam car. Career and grand prix seems well balanced.
@EA_Hux i have played the game many times already on ps5 i dont have started a career mode yet because of this bug but i have played enough to know some things: the problem is worse on some tracks than others for some reason take miami just around the corner out of the chicane the ai is really slow in that corner but if you are near the end of the straight and out of the next corner by the start finish straight the ai gain massive speed for some reason and then in the likes of jeddah the ai are just too fast in a straight line i always could go from last to first in f1 2021 in an mercedes or red bull but this year on the same difficulty which for me is 82 i get no where near the front starting from the back in a red bull or ferrari starting from the back and no it is not my driving that i know for sure

Equal performance cars.
AI only seem to use 15% ERS while i use 40% of my ERS down the entire straight but i still can't seem to catch up.

@EA_Hux I have drs and slipstream but as soon as i pull out and am next to him all the speed is gone.
The cars had equal power.
For me this bug occurs in every area of the game, even in multiplayer, if there is a AI Car.

Look, I know training AI around 22 circuits was/is a task and a half especially when new ways of downforce generation was brought in for this year and future seasons, but we should at least be able to compete with the AI, Limitless (Content Creator) made a video about 0 AI on Grand Prix mode, last year he could catch them and pass them for position despite being a lap down and still do decently in a 5 lap race. This year did the same thing, put himself a lap down on the entire field and he could only unlap himself, he couldn't catch back up to the back of the pack like he could last year much less pass them.

What do you expect to see? The AI not gaining speed advantages over the player and should not dive bomb you into high speed sections like in Jeddah
It's honestly just impossible in it's current state to compete right now for me, I'm not saying make the AI dumber, just reel them back on corner exit and straight line speed a bit, AI shouldn't gain half a second or you having DRS and they're pulling away, it's like they have DRS all the time and opening DRS makes it super DRS. I think I'm actually going to restart my MyTeam mode due to Bahrain race being bugged for me on another issue that I won't mention in this post.

Like I said on another post, I think with my discord group we can safely say that the issue is on at least engine upgrades, maybe more not applying to our car.
We did a test, where we made a myteam with a renault engine and one with a ferrari engine, other than that, same setup, same car upgrades, same teammate, 100Ai, no assist, short qualyIn qualy session:
With renault I did a 1:29:75 in barhain, 330 kph in speed trap
With Ferrari i did a 1:29:65 in Barhain, with 333kph in speed trap
I think the difference can be explained with me getting a better lap since I did ferrari after, and also engine caracteristic
Now for the real deal
Huklenberg did a 1:29:35 with renault
And a 1:28:4 with ferrariNearly one second faster, and this supposed performance increased is not present for the player
Something is definitely up with engine upgrades and maybe also other upgrades, they do not apply to the player car. And while our testing focused on myteam where the problem is the most obvious, it is possible that this issue in present in some way in other game modes.@EA_Hux I have the same problem, I play PC career mode with Alfa Romeo team, without assists and level 90, the problem happens in all tracks, and it's not just in My Team, career mode happens too, it's clear to me that the problem is at the exits of the curves, the AI seems to have incredible traction and gains great distances of advantage right at the exit of the curve, they have an incredible speed recovery, and at the end of the straights it reaches a higher speed, even using DRS and overtaking mode is the AI without DRS I can't overtake, The problem is clearer when I come out of a low turn and soon after there's a big straight, like the exit of turn 16 with the Miami circuit for example, it's frustrating to play F1 2022, lots of bugs.
Please identify this problem and fix it.
When I started My Team, I selected Renault engine, In the first race I thinked this is the problem of low speed on straights, and also thought I had * traction.
I started using low downforce setup, upgrading my rear and with a lot of ERS now I can keep up with AI.Now I think maybe this is the reason, especially out of slow corners.

@EA_Hux Even though the Ai had ERS and DRS deployed on both straights they still shouldn't be pulling away this quickly even with ERS and DRS especially when you factor in i was using DRS and ERS as well and how i was in the slipstream of the Alfa Romeo on both straights which would give me more of a speed increase to the Ai allowing me to overtake them which isn't the case in this year game right now
