Hey everyone,
we are still looking into your feedback about the straight line speed of AI drivers, and would like to get some more information from you to analyse it.
Could you please provide us the following details:
- Videos / Clips of sequences where you feel the AI has too much speed on a straight while you maybe use DRS / DRS+ERS / ERS and have no ability to catch the car in front.
- What difficulty level did you use for your race?
- Which assists are you currently using?
That would help us and the game team massively to understand your reports and see how we can tackle that feedback of yours 👍
If you have any questions, please let us know. You can also post links to YouTube videos / upload clips to trusted websites like streamable.com.

Here is an example of how OP the AI seem to be out of slow corners and onto long straights. Ocon was 0.8 seconds behind at the start of the straight and passed him by the end of it. https://youtu.be/ZJA73JKlmjE?t=350 At around 5:50 in this video

@VemundVemundSeems to me like rubberbanding.. Even ERS and slipstream dont cause such a swing of speed advantage
And yes its not rubberbanding because it keeps going on even when they are past him but what i try to say is its not a physics thing theres genuinely something going wrong
Correction: Might also be for some reason horrendously bad drag values for the MyTeam car, need more esports vids with low downforce setups in normal cars to say more but thats really extreme

Yes, the video of Jarno Opmeer in Miami really demonstrates what we are talking about. The AI is breezing past, not just faster. If they would gain a bit that's one thing, but they really come flying past me even before DRS is even activated.
But it's not like it happens to me every race and every track. Last week at Jeddah I was quite close to the pace of the AI on the straights. Not sure what's going on, but it's really weird. At Bahrain I literally stopped racing after a few attempts as my rear wing level was locked and I just couldn't come close to the AI on the straights, even though I was faster in the twisty bits.
- 4 years ago@VemundVemund I had the exact same experience shown here on Xbox Series X using a pad. It seemed to start happening after I changed the difficulty settings and the AI straight line performance is now like this regardless of which difficulty level I choose. They are crazy fast all the time.

Have not followed Jarno's series, but MyTeam is not the best example, if we do not know is engine or other details of the car. Alpine seems to be better car atleast, but it was only the overall and no details of aero, engine or chassis.
- 4 years ago@gizt7 It's the same problem if you are racing against your teammate in the exact same car as well. So for sure a problem with the AI
- 4 years ago@VemundVemund Well, I have not noticed this in my first 7 races in MyTeam...

Here's what I'm seeing in a Solo Grand Prix. Note the AI are set to a difficulty of 1 😃
- 4 years ago@WABBAJ4CK Wtf I've not seen it that bad in an Aston

@WABBAJ4CK In this clip it looks like you are only accelerating at ~70% max throttle?
- 4 years ago@ninjaisfast I haven't changed any of the controller settings, but I'll certainly check it.

I restarted my MyTeam career, and put AI on 90. For some reason I can now pretty much match the straight line speeds of AI.
Don't know how that's possible now, but finally I'm having fun playing it.

This is exactly, why videos are helpful. Thanks for sharing.
There is something wrong with your throttle. It goes only to ~70%. You can see this from the bottom in your HUD (green bar). It should go all the the way to the right. Please check your controller in calibration, there might be something wrong with it.
- 4 years ago@Bertje19892 Which settings did you actually change from? This info could be potentially useful in coming up with a workaround.

I restarted my MyTeam career set AI back to 90 (was 95). And started as midfield challenger instead of newcomer.
For assist I only use ABS and TC off.
For now on most tracks I'm keeping up with AI, but I use some custome setups from https://www.f1carsetup.com.
For me it's playable now, but on some tracks it's still a challenge.
