Have not followed Jarno's series, but MyTeam is not the best example, if we do not know is engine or other details of the car. Alpine seems to be better car atleast, but it was only the overall and no details of aero, engine or chassis.
@gizt7 It's the same problem if you are racing against your teammate in the exact same car as well. So for sure a problem with the AI

Here's what I'm seeing in a Solo Grand Prix. Note the AI are set to a difficulty of 1 😃

@WABBAJ4CK In this clip it looks like you are only accelerating at ~70% max throttle?
- @ninjaisfast I haven't changed any of the controller settings, but I'll certainly check it.
I restarted my MyTeam career, and put AI on 90. For some reason I can now pretty much match the straight line speeds of AI.
Don't know how that's possible now, but finally I'm having fun playing it.

There is something wrong with your throttle. It goes only to ~70%. You can see this from the bottom in your HUD (green bar). It should go all the the way to the right. Please check your controller in calibration, there might be something wrong with it.
- @Bertje19892 Which settings did you actually change from? This info could be potentially useful in coming up with a workaround.
I restarted my MyTeam career set AI back to 90 (was 95). And started as midfield challenger instead of newcomer.
For assist I only use ABS and TC off.
For now on most tracks I'm keeping up with AI, but I use some custome setups from https://www.f1carsetup.com.
For me it's playable now, but on some tracks it's still a challenge.
