Just a tip to have a chance try 0-0 wings they help a lot but ai are still a bit faster but you get a good launch out of corners to keep up.

The more I'm investigating the issue, the less I understand where the problem is
I just did a test in myteam with a ferrari engine against my team mate, on the barhain main straight I matched him in every way, but he still gains a second on me on a non simulated lap
And the same with a renault engine, same story, but this time there only is 0.2 or 0.3 difference, and I made the same laptime than with the ferrari engine
Where is he gaining ?- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend
Again it’s depends on how the devs approached each engine power curve. Some curves will deliver more torque further up the rev range some with be lower and some will be more balanced.
As I’m currently using Renault in my team. It’s top end speed as in its maximum speed is good. Because the engine delivers its torque higher up the dev range. The downside accelerating 0-100 isn’t as fast as Mercedes. But as Mercedes delivers more power lower down the range giving better 0-100. Means less power higher up and thus less maximum speed
NOTHING NEEDS INVESTIGATING. CODEMASTERS KNOW WHERE THE ISSUE IS AND ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON PATCH BY REMAPPING THE POWER TRAIN

@ScarDuck14 I understand that, but why then an engine which supposedly has more performance isn't translating into laptime for me, but is giving more pace to my team mate ?
I did another test with the Honda engine, which I know and use in career mode, and had no problem using to beat Gasly, welp, in my team:
-Did the same lap time than with Renault and Ferrari
-Hulkenberg put 0.700 on me, which coincidentaly is where the honda engine is performance wise between renault and Ferrari engine (0.300 difference with renault, 1 sec with ferrari)
Something is up with engine power, and it isn't engine caracteristic that is explaining it, the myteam car for the player simply doesn't have the performance improvement from the factory upgrades and maybe the upgrades applied by default the the engine in the r&d tree.
- Apophis-STR3 years agoSeasoned Ace@nkzsry9q2v3n Did you do your laptime near the end of the session? Grip level progressively increase the closer to the timer ends, AI are affected by that too.

@Apophis-STR In all cases lap time at the end of the session, without any fast forward, out lap skip or in lap skip, and I made sure to be the last on track so that the AI couldn't simulate their laptime at the end of the session
