- DRudd133 years agoSeasoned Ace@Meza994 That's why I'll be testing the same races at all lengths and actually look at my tyre wear before I pit. 1 last thing about the AI I've done all tests at 75 on Grand Prix, Max done a 1.21.976 on hards in the last lap. The actual fastest lap was a 1.24.108 on lap 55, 11 laps before the end of the race, on softs
- Meza9943 years agoSeasoned Ace@DRudd13 Its good to check your tyre wear but regarding the 1.21.9 again, he was on lowest fuel, his tires have more grip than they have IRL and possibly the track wears them less (not sure about spain, could be correct wear though), the AI goes half a second quicker on the last lap, it was crazy hot IRL AND spain has more a bit grip ingame than it has in real life.. All this adds up
- DRudd133 years agoSeasoned Ace@Meza994 I've just worked out the average lap times on Max's Spain game time. Took out the 1st lap and his in and out laps off.
Whole race average 1.22.689
7 laps on the soft 1.23.008 1 bad lap overtaking me 1.24.009
7 laps on the hard 1.22.651 1 bad lap 1.23.5 can't remember why. Possible yellows. That is nowhere near replicating real life tyre wear. - Meza9943 years agoSeasoned Ace@DRudd13 Its likely a little bit too low tyre wear but you also cant compare 25% with 100%.. It will never work properly no matter what formual you try you cant get 25% races to work out the same they do over 100%.. The grip loss with wear however might be a little bit bigger too in addition to the bit higher wear in general but you also have to take into account that this year it was burning hot in spain which causes slower laps and more wear and it was very gusty which doesnt help laptimes at all.
- DRudd133 years agoSeasoned Ace@Meza994 I know they aren't great comparisons, but the game has still got to work properly for those that do only 25% races. Finding it hard to believe Max can do that on level 75 while in the real race the fastest lap was an 1.24.108 on Soft with a full battery by Perez going for it 11 laps from the end, Max's best was an 1.25.456 on lap 46 mediums. 20 laps from the end. es it was hot but only been testing in clear conditions.
- Meza9943 years agoSeasoned Ace@DRudd13 Consider that they are never pushing 100% IRL but in the game as Codemasters dont code the game so that it requires a player to take care of his tyres, players and AI push all out in the game as it would be too frustrating to nurse your tyres the whole race to not overheat them nor wear them out too much.. So times are always quicker anyway, yes 75AI may be a bit fast but the game has bigger problems currently haha
- Apophis-STR3 years agoSeasoned Ace@ScarDuck14 Because they always start draining all their ERS on the final lap, you could match them just fine if you managed your tire and ERS well in preparation for their final dash.
Usually they will run out of ERS (light starts flashing) on the final sector, use that to your advantage. - ScarDuck143 years agoLegend
@Apophis-STR Ofcourse. I generally only look at the ai last lap times when its blatantly obvious they are pulling away from me or catching. And I get they will try and get fastest lap. But all off them for the last few laps a second faster. I know why they are quicker than me and that’s cause last few laps if the car Infront isn’t realistically catchable and I’m not threatened from behind/ then I’ll just cruise home. It’s not that I can’t go faster. It’s that ai start lapping a second faster and only time they don’t is cause they get in eachother a way .

@Meza994It all depends on what you meant by "push".
For example, when drivers are "saving their tires", it doesn't really meant they're gonna just cruise around. Instead, in most cases they could still maintain quite a competitive pace, it was just that they aren't as "liberate" on how they use the tires compare to when they "push".
How you maintain the weight shift, how you maintain the tire flex when changing direction, how you maintain your tires x pace when you're chasing someone, dealing with dirty air...Tire managing is truly an art form, and it certainly wasn't just about throttle controlling. - s00zster3 years agoRising Ace
I'm getting it in F2 in Career Mode as well. While there obviously aren't upgrades to unbalance the car, the AI is still rocketing away from turn 3 at Bahrain. By the time it gets to turn 4, it's gained nearly a second. It feels like there's no grip with my car and/or too much torque in the lower gears. If I try to keep up I just spin out. I'm playing with a controller.
With the F1 cars it's the same, but with the addition that 8th gear is either too long or there isn't enough torque.
Edit: I mean, regarding F2, I could just be rubbish... but they were pretty damn quick out of that corner, never had that with F2 in previous games...
