Wheel users will be fine. The pad user is in a bind. Full TC is kinda like MED TC last year. The present med TC is like having F1 2021 TC set to off. The pad user who uses TC needs a bit of help this year. The assist is weak this year.
In 2021 if Full TC was a value of 100, Med TC a value of 50 and TC off is 0.
In F1 22 Full TC has a value of about 65. Med TC has a value of about 25 and off is like a minus 25. Pad play has become more difficult whereas with a wheel its always easy.
I think you're talking about the low gear wheel spin issue? This affects wheel users too with all assists off.
As a general point, racing on a wheel is not 'easy'. Player skill is still a HUGE factor in how fast/slow someone is. And I say that as someone who races on a wheel but is not fast!
@Ultrasonic_77I play with wheel. The torque is pretty easy to control but there is a straight line issue with AI. On Baku with DRS and overtake button, the AI are impossible to overtake without a dive bomb move.

I was watching some of a PSGL race last night where the commentators were saying that basically nobody every goes below 4th gear with the game as it is currently due to the low gear torque/wheel spin issue. The likes of Lando Norris have been commenting for at least the last two years that the games are unrealistic in this regard too. The change that is coming is to try to make the game closer to real life in this regard.
Regarding your Baku example, are you talking about in My Team or another game mode?

Here's the main thread on this issue by the way:

- Darthsausage443 years agoRising Veteran@Ultrasonic_77 There is a fix coming, this was posted by ea in the other thread yesterday
The development team believes it has identified the issue regarding AI speed gain on the straights. Throttle application changes in Patch 1.07 will help, and the team is working to bring parity to AI and player car performance. We will update as soon as we have more news

Who gives two flying hoots about what Jarno and the esports want?
There is far more players than 20 or 30 rich spoilt brats.
There is too much focus on them. If the devs spent less time trying to pacify them and fixing issues and accommodating others it would
be much better for all.
Lets get real, not one of the esports players are a part of the community here at EA.
They dont give a hoot about us. If I was to never see the
F1 esports tab ever again, it'd be much too soon. I'd much prefer the F1 life feature, it was a breath of fresh air.
Apart from Brendon L, L Blakely and a few others, I dont really see much all.
I'm not on about race pace or skill, I'm on about being a decent kind human being.

I made no reference to any driver complaints but rather I mentioned something that the commentators said, which tallied with what the drivers were actually doing. That the very best drivers don't feel able to consistently drive faster by using lower gears and so stick to 4+ instead rather suggests to me that there is an issue but you will obviously draw your own conclusions.
Dismiss Lando's comments if you wish but personally I'll still place significant value in them. Note he is an F1 driver with a keen interest in sim-racing rather than him just being a driver having a quick go on a game for a laugh. Several other real F1 drivers expressed similar opinions on the game when they were racing on it during lockdown too, with the general view being that medium TC was closer to reality that TC off.
