Anyone playing F1 22 with ButtKicker?

Hi there, curious to know, especially about PS5. I'm new to the topic and potentially interested in the future. Considerations, comments, configurations made (photos) etc. Anyone? Thanks in advanc...

    This is the answer I got from them btw:

     

    "The transducer has thermal protection so that if it hits a certain temp it will shut off to cool so that it doesn't damage itself.
     
    You need to make sure that you aren't clipping when the signal comes into the amplifier, clipping is fine in moderation.
     
    If you are using simhub, it runs out of equipment much harder than it should and will need to be turned down more than you expect."
     
    I have a solid carbon steel cockpit and I really like Buttkicker! Just wish could be a bit stronger.
     
    And honestly is already quite good using only sound. Could not get it much better on Simhub, but you do have an infinity of possibilities within Simhub. Answering the other question, you don't only get rumble strips, but also motor etc on the sound based.

@Nuvolarix Hey, there's an alternative to the Buttkicker which I was looking at yesterday. It's called the HF8 and it's like a pad that you place on your chair. I don't think it would be any better than the Buttkicker on a PS5 but another option. There's a few reviews on YT

@TotosHeadphones thanks, I will have a look... My cousin has just taken a buttkicker, still in trouble with setting it up, courious to know how it will go, but he is on PC (while I'm on PS5) and maybe it also depends on the game, whether it supports it or not, I don't know

    @Nuvolarix With the PS5 it'll use audio to control the vibration so it depends on how well the sound team on the game has mixed all the sound. For example on F1 2021 using my poor man's Buttkicker, there are no low frequencies that are mixed to the tyres locking up but you can hear the mid frequencies, so you get no rumble. However on ACC the team has mixed virtually everything, so you will get a constant rumble for the running engine, clunks when you change gear etc. Not a slight on Codemasters as I don't know what it would be like on the Buttkicker which probably has different response and frequency range. 

    On the PC, it uses telemetry to control the vibration. Far more intuitive but once again it depends on what the teams do to incorporate that data. I think that's a compatibility list but you'll probably get more range with PC

        I am here to help you!

        I play F1 22 with buttkicker gamer2 on PS5. There are 2 ways basically:

        1. Sound based. It is good, is how I am doing currently. Just plug the buttkicker on an audio output (either from controller or TV, monitor output etc).

        2. Broadcast the UDP data to a laptop running Simhub and connect Buttkicker to Simhub. This usually overloads Buttkicker easier and it turns off, so I stopped running like this. It is a known issue and even Buttkicker replied that to me on user support.

        Even on option number 1 it can overload, but just keep it below clipping level (the red light) and should be fine.
