Anyone worked out the correct field off view setting?

And would like to share.    Default FOV to my old eyes looks more accurate compared to last year which was  -9 or -10 if viewing from a rig setup.  And -15 from where I sit.  But not feeling it this ...

    @ScarDuck14 It all depends on screen size and your eyes distance from the screen (mine is -4 as my eyes are 90cm away from 55 inch screen). FOV calculator should help you with that, if you use cockpit view. Use feeling for any other view. 🙂

@ajobling1983 eSports guys use T-cam view so FOV calculations mean nothing in that case. It's just using feeling. Correct FOV matters in cockpit view.

    @ajobling1983 We are talking about correct FOV so we are talking about cockpit cam only.

    Wow. Adjusting the FOV has changed the cockpit view experience dramatically for the better. It took little time to adjust my timing but once that started clicking my lap times got better than ever. Crazy! The slower perception of speed definitely helps the timing of braking and getting on the throttle more accurately. Interestingly the perception of speed is much closer to what the visor cam looks like in the F1 broadcasts. I always thought the visor cam looks strangely slow on TV but now it makes sense. The scale of the world looks more accurate to me as well. From the tracks to the cars, it feels big.  Love it! Had to go with the Look to Apex set to the max for now. I may dial it back as I get better acclimated with the FOV to reduce some of the shakiness in the camera. Thank you to the OP and others who chimed in on this.

    @Hansenhaus  I could have just googled the fov settings. But decided to put a post here as I know many players are aware off the FOV.  Hoping someone would read it and try it and find the power FOV holds.,

    The best part is I am not spinning out on corner exits because with the FOV at -12 my brain now perceives the track correctly. It almost feels like the car has more mechanical grip. Really cool!

    I'm a little upset with this thread and those who posted the FOV calculators. I tried it, and it's presented a new problem for me...

    Finding a new AI Difficulty because I'm wayyyyy faster now!!!!!


    Everything above is spot on about how it seems to slow things down. The only issue I'm trying to get used to is something about it is * with my eyes and I have to pause to give my eyes a rest here and there, but otherwise, it's clearly made me at least 5 points and upwards of 10 points faster on an AI Diff. 10 may be a bit much, but I'm noticeably better for sure.
