Can't join co-op career session/lobby

Summarize your bug Can't join/start Co-op Career. My mate and I have been trying for days to get a co-op career up and running like we did last year, but only one of us can join the lobby at a time. When one player joins, the second player attempts to load in before being hit with 'Unable to connect to the EA servers'.
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Multiplayer
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? We've tried everything.. reinstalling the game, deleting all game files from console and cloud, switching from LAN connection to WiFi (we both have lightning fast internet speeds and cat6 LAN cables), and even resetting/modifying our DNS settings. We can both join other online modes with no issue. At a complete loss here. Co-op Career is literally the single reason we purchased the game.
What happens when the bug occurs? When one player joins the co-op career lobby, the second player attempts to load in before being receiving a 'Unable/Failed to connect to EA server' message, and is subsequently booted back to their main menu. The first player remains in the lobby alone. We've attempted all types of career option settings thinking it might be a specific irregularity causing this, but after 15-20 variations I'm adamant it's a server-side bug.
What do you expect to see? Both players successfully joining the co-op career lobby/save and beginning the career.

  • I don't think this will be much comfort to you, but I've seen that error message before, once or twice in the past, but it's only occurred for us temporarily, and we've been able to wait a couple of minutes for it to clear before playing without issues. I assume in that moment that it probably _was_ the servers not responding. But it sounds like you've got something more serious going on. So all I can say is 'good luck' and I hope you find a solution (I know that would drive me nuts).

    We've tried for up to an hour each time on 3-4 different days over the past week, so it definitely seems like something we won't be able to bypass ourselves or just 'wait out' unfortunately.

    I don’t understand why EA don’t respond. This ignorance is unbelievable and unacceptable!
