My son is a Destiny and Halo fan and has to replace his controller every 6 weeks to 3 months, this on Xbox X.
He pays the extra $ to cover breakdowns and gets a New one for like 10 bucks, this at GameStop.

@BadMayh3mYeah forgot about the curse off stick drift… Fortunately I’ve got the updated dual sense and Sony say stick drift is no more… well see
i used to go through a ds4 every three months due to braking left stick…. I blame FIFA when the players don’t run the way you want them to.. I push harder…. You will go that way.. I also would have loads off indentations around the outer housing especially up and down

I wouldn't believe Sony regarding stick drift. The construction and the use of potentiometers for the sticks mean that eventually they will drift. Obviously better quality potentiometers will last longer. The best way to do it is to use hall sensors which have better accuracy and near enough have no wear due to the lack of physical interaction between the registering contacts. Not sure if the new pro version of dualsense uses these but they are modular and replaceable.

They said they fixed issues caused by rest mode but games still tend to crash when ps5 is booted from rest mode. At least it doesn’t brick ps5 anymore
