Car slowing on straights

Just wondering on this, I am doing the stand alone full season in single player mode

Quite a few times my car has lost some power on a straight, but returns to normal power as soon as I round the next turn, as anyone else experienced this at all

I believe it might be the game punishing me for track limit infringements during my race

I am not the most accurate driver out there but I don't drive like a drunken sailor either

Do you use a pedal set? Could you be resting your left foot on the brake pedal when on the straights? It is a habit I have so I have to make sure I calibrate my brake pedal to 0% whilst I have my foot resting on it.

@Antic3 Have you checked in the throttle hits 100% in ffb settings?

I Havnt had this but I have seen a post that also mentions it.

If your adding linearity to throttle. Try it without and see if it still happens
Also add 5 to brake deadzone. I occasionally touch the brake trigger without realising. A breeze can be strong enough to move the trigger at times😂

@Antic3 It might be what ScarDuck said but also what ride height are you running? Very low ride height can have the same effect on certain parts of the track but for that you need to be running 2/2 or lower imo..

@Antic3 If your ERS is 0 before the turn it will be higher after the turn and thereby more power after turn.

I thought no way.....
But it did it again and I looked down at my dash and low and behold the brake slider was a fraction on, I noticed it by accident.
now I am not sure if it is me touching the brake or my peddles on the way out, my Logitech G27 must be 10 years old now

I will monitor my left foot from now on............

@Antic3 I found I was sometimes doing this when resting my left foot on the brake pedal. If you go into calibration settings you can change the linearity of your brake pedal, so you basically change how much travel/force needs to be applied before the brake starts working. Mine is set so the first ~1mm of travel doesn’t do anything.

@Antic3 I’m sure someond first mentioned it could be your brake slightly on and to add abit off deadzone to the trigger/pedal😂

Ok, a big thankyou to all who responded and it has helped me greatly, I have been practicing for several hours now and I consider the problem to be solved.
I used to design, build and install computer systems and we had a saying in the workplace and that was:
Most problems originate between the chair and the keyboard, and I believe I now fit into this description......
I considered and implemented all suggestions here and I ended up with:
More brake dead zone
Less brake saturation
Adjust steering angle
End result surprised me greatly, instead of barreling down the straight at breakneck speed and then standing on the brakes and trying to round the corner, the brakes are now less sensitive and I have to brake earlier. It took a bit of getting used to but the end result is more corner speed, a smoother transition through the corner and earlier on the throttle and more consistent lap times. I have picked up nearly a second a lap on initial testing laps
