Car slowing on straights

Just wondering on this, I am doing the stand alone full season in single player mode

Quite a few times my car has lost some power on a straight, but returns to normal power as soon as I round the next turn, as anyone else experienced this at all

I believe it might be the game punishing me for track limit infringements during my race

I am not the most accurate driver out there but I don't drive like a drunken sailor either

  • Do you use a pedal set? Could you be resting your left foot on the brake pedal when on the straights? It is a habit I have so I have to make sure I calibrate my brake pedal to 0% whilst I have my foot resting on it.

Hi there, I had similar (but not identical) issue, I remember another topic about but I cannot find it anymore.

    My issue of yesterday was:

    - GP mode 100% race in France

    - I entered the pit after 20 laps for my first stop and paused the game for 30-45 seconds, then I restarted

    - the car was slow in the straights, something like 280 km/h max speed against 300+ km/h normal, I did half a lap and was almost going to retire (thinking about an engine problem), I used flashback 4-5 times, checked everything, no issue visible (throttle 100%, no engine problem, etc.)

    - I used 'save and exit' button getting back to the main menu

    - then entered the race back and everything was back to normal

weird, first time I have this after 5-6 months and lot of time spent... 😕

BTW if anyone is able to locate the topic I was referring to, please tell me 🙂

    Cheers,

    Nuv

@Nuvolarix Do you mean the Drag reduction upgrades not being applied unless you restarted session. So I posted a thread asking for help to test it; And after a few guys provided feedback it appeared to an issue. Information was sent over to the devs:

However since then I ’ve been going out in first practice on every track. Doing a lap: Noting top speed on straights and lap time. Then restarting the session. Then i go back out with same setup and do another lap.

And 15 races into my season. Every lap I’ve put in after restarting the session. Not only am I always faster on the straights. Also around a second lap faster.

@ScarDuck14 nope, I remember a topic of a guy who had a wweird issue like mine (don't remember which kind of session) which disappeared after restarting the game or something like that.

I searched for it both in General Discussion and in Technical Issues & Bug Reports but couldn't locate.

About mine I was running my 100% race (PS5), went to pit stop after 20 of the 53 laps and paused the game (perhaps the reason of the issue?), at the restart something was strange, the car was simply slow and it wasn't a matter of cold tyres etc., it was slow in the straights.

If I locate that topic maybe we can add it to bug section for investigating, but I have no report code, besides if we (all the players) had only twice in 6 months it probably doesn't worth the candle 😉

    Ciao,

    Nuv

@Nuvolarix As for your issue: I actually find the opposite. If I pause for 5 minutes. When i restart the dual sense feels a lot more alive. Someone said it’s due to the haptics/vibrations get too hot or something. So given the pad a little rest helps cool it down
