Career mode AI is broken

I think the AI in Career mode is completely broken.
If I am slow, their record is also slow. If I'm fast, they're insanely fast. It happens even during the session.
If my first attack is slow, they have a similar time to mine, and if my second attack is fast, their time is incredibly fast. The gap is quite large.
In particular, the more development progresses, the more pronounced this phenomenon becomes. I hope turn off the development. but there is no option.
I don't know how to set the difficulty in career mode.
At first I started with 80, but now it's hard to even 75, and in Monaco it had to be 60.
For me, Grand Prix mode is more fun. Because the difficulty level is constant. But I can have only one grand prix save is big trouble.

  • In  options menu off your career mode. Are you in casual, standard or expert mode. If you are in casual mode. Go to simulation settings and check if adaptive ai is on:  if  adaptive ai doesn’t display reduce ai difficulty to minimum and it I think will then pop up. And turn it off.  Then change your mode to standard or expert.  And then adjust ai back up to where you had it and try that.

Sorry I can’t be more precise but I’m trying to remember off top off my head

@homesvslupin  Only thing I could think off.  I also use expert. But I still turned the adaptive ai off.  As racing games are notorious for ai cheats and rubber banding.   Having  a option that can modify the ai behaviour set to on  makes me paranoid

@ScarDuck14i turned it off. What if it’s a adaptive AI problem, I think it should be same in grand prix mode but not. And I was awful at monaco but they did still very well insanely. I was P8 at Q, P10 at Race with ferrari.
    I experienced this in f1 2021.
I cannot chase Max verstappen with same car. So I downed difficulty, then others are very slow. Max and me were very fast with fully developed car. The faster the car, the stronger the AI.

One off the problem with the game is accelerating. Especially out off slow corners compared to the ai.  There is a update coming that will make accelerating easier thus making us faster in general and I believe will solve most problems.  But that update is still a month away 😔

  • I too use 80 difficulty as I find the AI times to reflect real life times - however, their speeds at Monaco are broken - I often compare real life times using formula.com/results and the AI lap times are two to three seconds faster than real life on 80 difficulty.

In order to slow down R and D, I think you have to set the option to 'reduced' or 'low' rather than 'standard'.

@ScarDuck14Of course I agree with your opinion.
But I can play well in Grand Prix mode. I can exit corner very well, I can overtake Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, I can win the grand prix, I can fight well with AI. In Career mode, It gets more difficult as you progress. I should down the difficulty more and more.
What I want to say is that 'in career mode the AI difficulty is not consistency'.
