So, my 1st career in Red Bull saw me retiring twice in 4 races due to mechanical failure and same went for my 2nd career.
I know that mechanical failures happened often both to Ferrari and Rb in real life but...
Is this normal? Have any of you experienced the same issue? Should we post a bug report?
Ive played through an entire driver career season with Mercedes. I had an ERS fault twice during a race that caused me some reductions in speed/laptime while they sorted out the issues. Both were resolved without me having to DNF; and I got a R&D reward for them after the race. In my My Team mode I'm only 3 races in, again using the Merc engines and I've had no such faults.
Seems like just your bad luck.
That being said in my Mercede's career when I started it I used the initial R&D points for 3 upgrades, all three failed the day before the Bahrain race. I had a fourth in development later that also failed. So all four of my first R&D efforts failed; I was furious as you can imagine but after that I only had one or two other failed upgrades through the entire season. It's just random, maybe you're seeing it more with the RB car because their durability/reliability stat is lower than the Merc engine I was using. I'd hate to see what it's like with the stats on the Renault engine as I think reliability/durability is only about 78 on their engine. When it comes to reliability/durability the ranking is Ferarri, Mercedes, Redbull, Renault/Alpine which may explain why you've seen more faults; the RB engine has a low rating in durability to start; and most people usually ignore that department when using R&D in career mode because they want the performance gains from Aero, Engine and Chassis. That has a bit to do with it too I suspect.
