Clutch error on manual race start and immersive pit stops

Product: F1 22
Platform: Xbox Series X
Summarize your bug On a manual race start, the clutch prompts are incorrect.
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Driver Career, Multiplayer
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? So far, this has happened in 2 multiplayer race starts, one of them in 2-player career. In the most recent occurrence, the issue also happened during the immersive pit stops which use the same manual start sequence. Unfortunately I cannot say whether it's reproducible. I've tried every way I can think of to do something 'wrong' that might make the issue happen, but to no avail.
What happens when the bug occurs? The HUD on race start skips the "Engage clutch" prompt and goes directly to "Hold clutch" even though the clutch (paddle) is not yet engaged. When this happens, releasing the clutch does not actually put the car into gear, even though the telemetry shows 1st gear. So the car is effectively stuck in place.
What do you expect to see? The normal sequence of prompts, starting with "Engage clutch", followed by "hold" and then "release."

I am using a Logitech G920 wheel and pedals.

Please refer to video on YouTube for an example showing both a normal race start and the error.

  • I am getting the same problem now except my car doesnt go into 1st gear while Im holding the clutch and the lights go out and Im just stuck there with neutral on and I have to shift up to 1st gear myself.

  • This is also happening to me on a G29 wheel and pedals.  Paddle shifter works totally fine during time trial or quali pre-race, but can’t even engage the clutch at race start.

Controller will recognize the clutch input if the wheel is not hooked into the PS5, but not if it’s set up and I try to switch to the pad to get my start.

I’ve unplugged/replugged the wheel multiple times, uninstalled/reinstalled the game, everything I can think of that could try to reset it but nothing seems to work.

I race in online leagues that require manual start, so until this gets fixed, I’m completely out of luck.

@Otterfox4209Did you find a solution? I got this problem last week and its still happening... ☹️

Well, since I reported this bug I upgraded to a Thrustmaster wheel (hand-me-down from bf who upgraded to Fanatec) and haven't had the issue since. So indeed it may be something related to the Logitech wheel specifically.
