Ive been playing around with controller settings and Camera POV.
Good(so so) news is you can dial out the stick input lag. Due to the stability wotsit. Which as I said before by reducing Camera POV. As it definitely makes steering more responsive. (I don’t know why) But also you need to increase max wheel rotation. I’ll try to explain.
I believe the steering stability activates when the game detects aggressive steering inputs at high speed. Because there is little travel with the stick. It’s hard to be precise in high speed corners and most of us will over do it moving the stick left or right. Moving the stick 100% either way with max steering rotation 360 degrees or left is basically adding full steering lock. Do that in any car F1 or a 50hp road car. At speed you will crash. So increasing the steering rotation in effect gives you more travel and more precise so less likely to add excessive steering angle and reduces the game activating pad stability. Plus it means For tight chicanes is alittle less responsive but reducing pov will negate that.
I’ve also noticed something I didn’t expect. Which is more FFB and Trigger feedback. actually felt feedback from the throttle when accelerating. Don’t get excited it’s not much. Which makes me think it could be something to do with wheel rotation. As The Triggers are great when driving the supercars. Which have 2 and halfish times the rotation.
my settings which won’t suit many as these depend on other factors such as Tv/monitor size. How far you sit from it. Plus how much finesse your left thumb has not to mention thumb eye coordination etc etc
Camera TV pod -10 pov -20 angle +20 height TV offset -15 pov -12 lateral -15 angle +15 height. Cockpit-5 pov. -5 angle +10 height.
FFB 150. On track 35. Rumble 30. Off track 20. Wheel damper 5. Understeer off. Maximum Wheel rotation 450.
The default pov and ffb settings are not a one size fits all and need to be dialled in to best suit each player’s driving style and environment.
Youtube Gurus best controller settings ever are all wrong. They all will tell you to reduce wheel rotation by 100ish degrees. Which was the way in last years game. All those videos are posted by guys that all have high end wheel and rig setups. and then they get copied by lazy YouTube gurus who post their controller settings. It’s just another video they can get clicks for.
Remember it’s the same guys who got early access and gave big shouts out to EA and Codemasters for an amazing game with no bugs whatsoever.
@ScarDuck14 I dont think you understand whats the issue MOST OF US ARE FACING. None of these settings, and changing them is gonna work for us. I dont know if you have seen video posted by @StefanKrunic97, it very clearly shows, ffb is not low or marginal or weak, ITS NON EXISTENT.
none of these camera(?!) or ffb or any other settings is gonna do anything, when its just straight up missing

Certainly not in the last two weeks. Even devs that can’t write working games still get holidays 🙄
Let’s not buy the titles in 2023, including F1 23.
maybe in 2024 when is F1 23 is on discount 🤷♂️ - StefanKrunic973 years agoNew Scout
How hard can it be to bring back a feature that ALREADY existed in the game. Damn thieves!

I had some success with my Elite Series 2 controller on PC by using it on Bluetooth.
Stops working completely when the controller is plugged in. Terrible for response times, unless it's a conspiracy to make you buy the BT dongle.
