Something i suggested in the old forum which is bothering quite a few and you probably already heard: "more" ERS modes. Yes i know we got to the current system due to driver input but at the same time we know teams got different deployment mappings which Merc even got into their iRacing W12.. So what we reached a fairly wide agreement on in the old forum was 2-3 ERS modes (which can be adjusted in the setup, either one value for all gears or each gears deployment for all modes, first one would suffice IMO) which can only be changed once or twice per lap (so its not over management but still some choice) and simultaneously overtake mode, forced 100% power, no limitation only the deployment limit per lap.
I know this wouldnt be too easy as overtake mode would be required a different routing than the other ERS modes (otherwise Overtake would also only be once per lap) but needs to work together with the other modes on the battery charge and deployment limit.. So maybe the "main common" folder for max deployment per lap etc. then sub groups for Overtake and another for the other ERS modes with a limit in change for the latter?
Anyway i know its not easy and still might get some "too complicated" complains but especially deciding the deployment rate outselfes would help a lot with tracks like Imola where recovery wasnt easy in 2021 compared to Spa where we could have even gone with higher output.. Not to mention the possibilities for wet weather with specific gear deployment (lower output at lower gears, higher output at higher gears for better traction).. Just a wish of someone with hope for more setup options😝
