Just want to say thank David. It's not often a dev of any game is so open with their changes and games/time limitations. It really adds to the appreciation when the game is launched and as a player you can see where the hard work has impacted the final product.
I'll not keep bombarding you with questions, but if you have any information on Tyre Wear vs 2021 it would be appreciated. As a league racer running 50% races the S-M strat (or MS) was possible on basically every track. Is that similar in 22?

on many tracks, S will overheat quite easily and also tyre wear be pretty high. I think it should be a bit more mixed, but I really need data from players playing the game and do league races to really know the effect.

Once the game is released, is very difficult, but not impossible, to make changes. Don't expect them either to be ready in a matter of days. Takes months. Is a long process, needs to tick a lot of boxes before it can be released to the public.

What I'm wondering most is what will happen to the brake balance in the future.
At the release of F1 2021 we had more realistic brake balance options for the first time, meaning you could not use 50% BB all the time without having any rear-lockups.
That sadly had to be reverted to the "old" 50% BB meta due to the drifting with rear-lockups around corners being faster.
From what I've seen so far from ingame footage, and according to Marcel Kiefer we still have the same 50% meta as we had in the past and I suspect this due to some kind of deep-rooted "things" in the engine which you guys sadly weren't able to solve.
Will it stay like that for the entire lifecycle of F1 22 or is there any chance for an update for that?
Since I sadly have to guess it won't happen with this release, can we maybe get our hopes up a little to see something new, more realistic in that area in F1 23 with the (regarding to the rumors) new game-engine?
You probably can't tell me too much about it, but I'd be happy about any information here since the reverting back to the old model has been a huge disappointment to me and others in my league in the last game. The new BB was actually the most exciting thing we had regarding handling/setup changes for me personally, so seeing something like that coming back would be great.

What can we expect from the AI this year? I would love it to make mistakes and fight like we are seeing on the first gameplay footages coming out. I hope it won't change upon release, for the sake of single player mode. Can you tell us anything about this?

BB is actually a lot more complicated than we think. I need to improve a lot of other things and add BB migration to the physics model before we can actually get more realistic BB values. Initial 21 handling, was done in a way that is not correct, and that resulted in the drifting technique by the esports guys. I cannot have that happen again, so, it needs to be done the right way and takes time to be honest. But now that we have an improved physics model, we can go and look at these kind of details.

Thank you David. I appreciate it can be fine tuned but I was a bit worried about expecting eventful races but ending up with AI trains being very plain and not as exciting at it could be. Due to work schedules I tend to be a solo player and I hope that AI can make room for more mistakes, dnfs and happenings so they give you a possibility to recover from your own mistakes without relying on the flashback feature

what about brake balance in F1 22? I may have already read something around this topic but not sure to remember, will it be again a 50% or maybe something similar to the early versions of F1 2021? I remember an issue with eSports drivers at that time...
Another question, are the AI drivers' performances differentiated between qualification and race or are they all the same? Meaning something like driver-1 stronger in Q than in R, driver-2 stronger in R, etc. What are your thoughts about?
As last which kind of setup is used by the AI in F1 22? If I well remember it was 4-4 wings in F1 2020, 8-8 (I may be wrong) in F1 2021... Now? Any chance to differentiate per track?
Because one of the (few) issue with the AI from a player point of view was the different setup in comparision with the AI which gave an unmotivated advantage (or disadvantage) in top speed on the straight and therefore ease or less of overtaking.

If it turns out that a 2 or possibly 3-stop can be just as effective as a 1-stop, because of tyre wear in-game... I'd be okay with that.
I know they 1-stop most of the time irl, but it's so damn boring. Gimme some strategy choices F1 ๐ข
The AI will use the default preset assigned to players at each track. So Monza you will have maximum top speed preset, I think it is preset 5, and Monaco will be Maximum Downforce, which should be preset 1.
Now when you go to each track, one of the 5 presets will be the default one. It will not default to the default/balanced preset 3 anymore.
So if you want to be racing against ai with the same setup, i recommend just using the assigned preset by default. Or at least make minimum changes.

Just a question on engine braking, will it be more effective this year, or will we have to brake way too much as in F1 21 to slow down the cars again?
Also are there any plans on giving us multiple engine braking options for F1 22, or future F1 games, that we can then change on the fly on track (similar to how we can already change the brake bias and differential)?
In my opinion, that would be a cool feature to have, and it certainly would enhance the simulation and immersion of the game for sure.

The engine brake is one of the values that come directly from real data of F1 teams, therefore there is nothing to correct on this aspect.
Also I understand your point, but I am not going to add an option because it will be an easy feature to exploit.
