Downshifting doesn't always register when driving in F2 career mode

Platform:PlayStation 5
Summarize your bug Downshifting doesn't always register when racing in F2 career mode.
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Driver Career
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Start career mode in F2 and use manuel shifting. The issue happened more frequently when racing in Monaco.
What happens when the bug occurs? The downshift does not register and you have to press the lever several times to get to the gear you want.
What do you expect to see? It should register every downshift as it does when racing in time trail.

I have a issue when I try to downshift when racing in Career mode. The issue is that the game doesn't register every downshift. Sometimes I have to press  the downshift lever several times for it to register. I do not think this is a hardware issue since I don't have this issue when I run time trails. It may also just be when racing F2 cars in career mode. I have not gotten so far to test in F1 career. 

I am using a Fanatec  GT DD Pro running in PS5/4 mode and with the GT3 McLaren V2 racing wheel. 

I'm also playing the game on a PS5 console. All hardware and software are running on the newest versions.

    Same issue PS4 G923 wheel.

    I thought it was me, but thank you.

    I noticed it happens after a long straight downshifting from 6th gear.

    I am running Thrustmaster T248 on PS5. It has happened to me in my team F1, F1 Grand Prix, and F2 Grand Prix. I wasn’t paying attention to see if it happened while I was doing the weekly event practice or qualifying.

    I can confirm that it still a problem even the latest update.

    only happens on an F2 Car.

    Downshifting does not register immediately.

    It is fine when you use an F1 Car.

    I have the same issue but with the F1 & f2 cars and it only happens in career mode. I'm basically forced to race in automatic and it isn't very enjoyable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Same here. For me, it has happened more often in F2 than in F1. I'm on Steam, use a Thrustmaster T248.

    I am still having the exact same issue of downshifts not always registering particularly in F2 at Monaco in career mode. I wasn’t having any issues during time trial

    @MortyGToTheH For everyone thinking, it’s a bug, it is not. That is how it should be. F2 cars behave differently than F1 cars and the downshifting is maybe one of the most noticeable for being much slower. You just have to get used to it

    No its a bug, since it can happen to the FIRST gear downshifted on brake
    Sometimes on silverstone i succed to downshift from 3 to 2 after 3,4 triggers!
    No problem at all on other games...
