I'm trying to simulate through a season in my career and get ONLY Vettel to retire, but it seems the game is hard coded to have him and at least one other driver, Bottas or Alonso, to retire with him.Is there any way to control who retires, or is it just absolutely random?

@Dlb731 Been like this from 2020, been calling it out as ageism as they will always simply assume the oldest will definitely retire. Alonso would love that! There might be an "average" window of performance for most drivers but not everyone follows these rules as Alonso shows. Hamilton will likely stay a long time longer as he still benefits from the platform to send his message of equality as well as grabbing that 8th title rather than being drawn with another. Still insanely competitive, hungry and energetic.I don't mind retirements but it should NOT be set in stone to who goes. Seb has been one that was hard wired for season 1 retirement from 2020. It can be seen as insulting to the driver as well as frustrating for the fans who may want to race with them in their own team. I still feel a good option should be if a driver does retire then they go into a free agent roster like icons just for the player so you can effectively buy them out of retirement like can be quite popular to do irl. Options are always nice, set in stone rules not so much. Be like water my friend. Also waiting for female reserve drivers for My Team careers too. They gotta push this stuff rather than wait until it's already "trending", be the trend EA. Take that lead.

@ScarDuck14I always play the whole 10 seasons and I agree that it gets a bit boring after around Season 3, but here's what I'm trying now on F1 22 and it's been working 'well' for now:I REDUCED the Resource Points generation for me AND for the AIs as well - I kept the money generation at Normal and everything else is normal as well - and then it's taking longer to develop my car - and the AIs cars - to the maximum.And the Regulation Changes are a bigger setback now, forcing everyone to keep re-developing the car parts, etc..I'm currently at the end of Season 3 and I'm getting Regulation Changes again (it happened in Season 1, but not in Season 2) and now I'm having 3 departments being affected and maybe not enough Resource Points to save all parts on all 3 departments, I guess (I'm still trying to save them all), but on the other hand, I already have 19 parts on each one of the 4 departments (the total parts vary around 23/24), so I'm actually pretty close to full development after 3 seasons, even with a slower/smaller Resource Points generation - maybe I just got lucky by not getting too many of my developments failing, or it's actually faster/easier to develop the car on F1 22 - I wonder how easy/quick it is on Normal or even Increased Resource Points generation - maybe you can get a 100% full developed car before the end of season 2 - LOLAnyway.. long story short: I'm trying to 'stretch' that as much as possible throughout all of the 10 seasons to make it more interesting and fun - I'm also streaming my journey on Twitch, bla bla bla (sorry for advertising), but jah.. you can find me there as SexyBrigadeiro (won't put the link here.. again).. - cheers, mate!

@Apophis-STR I agree with you that by the end of a 'normal' career run (regular or MyTeam) I always end up with a LOT of unused (and pointless) money and Resource Points and this is actually my first time trying a full career with reduced RP, but I believe I'm still gonna get to about Season 5 with everything done and nothing else to do, so.. jah.. maybe I should reduce it even more, if the game allowed me to do it..BTW, I remember I finished my MyTeam career on F1 2020, for example, with literally a BILLION Dollars and nowhere to spend that money - LOL...@ScarDuck14 Thank you VERY much, my friend, just for checking out the channel(s), but also for the compliments!I know this is completely out of topic here, but jah.. In the two or 3 different seasons I've completed by My Team or driver career it's always Sergio Perez that retires after season 1 which is incredibly infuriating to me. However I took the opportunity in my driver career mode to jump into his Red Bull seat leaving Haas behind despite my strong efforts with R&D to lead the midfield pack. However that decision blew up my entire career mode. I go to Redbull thinking I'll be paired with Max. Nope. I join, Max leaves and ends up at Haas with Schumacher. Schwartzman ends up my team mate at Red Bull. What the hell is going on with driver transfers? Now I'm smart enough now to disable autosave before I renegotiate a contract to change teams becuase I know the stupid logic of transfers will just make a complete mess of things. Here's the funny part though... since the Red Bull plan blew up in my face I decided to go to Ferrari next time but somehow things got worse. I go to Ferrari, Leclerc ends up at Redbull, Guanyu Zhou ends up my teammate at Ferrari, and Sainz ends up at AlfaRomeo. In what world would Zhou get the 2nd ferrari seat?For the love of F1... PLEASE Codies... EA... bring back the old contract system ASAP so we can negotiate to be first or second driver, and in doing so tell us who we will be replacing and who my teammate will be. Or just... give us control of the teams/drivers! Licensing always gets thrown around as the problem preventing this, but that's nonsense to me. If Zhou can end up at Ferrari, and Leclerc at REdbull, or Max at Haas randomly it can't be a licensing matter. It's a matter of laziness and desire to create Braking Point, or F1 Life nonsense rather than improve the core gameplay modes.

@SexyBrigadeiro The resources gain during late game is simply too much, dropping it to that low will prevent anyone from maxing out their car within a season + completely adapting to new reg.

Turning off driver retirements much like we can with driver transfers should be an option really. There's lots of Vettel, Alonso and last year, Kimi fans that half the time couldn't hire their favourite driver due to them retiring early so often.
An option to turn them off would be nice and if you feel you want them back on for season three or whatever then simply turn them back on.
I know I'd personally much rather have a 50 year old Alonso in my save than the risk of Nissany or Deledda showing up.
Being able to manually edit the lineup could be another way as we could just "retire" then by keeping them as free agents. Could be a way to allow us to put icons in the other teams.
