In-game in cockpit view, or on a physical wheel?
Cockpit view in game.

True, I’m on PS5 and noticed this one too. All textures and assets on the supercars interiors are now super blurry and low poly.
- 3 years ago@FernandoHVB Same on PC.

Where is AI difficulty reset fix?

"Fixed Personnel Facilities"
...RIP. The one thing that was broken that actually improved the game. Unless it only applies to your Team in My Team.. but I doubt it. Back to all drivers having 100 stats again.

The automatic gear upshift is much more slower on v1.06 than v1.05. Prefer very much the v1.05. This new update is causing me to lose time per lap time Please revert the gear upshift to how it was on V1.05
- mariohomoh3 years agoRetired Hero@Gji2002 That's probably a consequence of the new torque curves. Do you know the gist of how transmission works?
In a nutshell, the 1.06 update changed the torque values for the engine RPM, so the power at the wheels at 10.000 RPM are now different from what they were, for instance. The upshifting point, as in the best time to upshift for maximum acceleration, will obviously change.
It would have been a problem if automatic gears did NOT follow the new parameters.- 3 years ago
Ok but nothing was specified in the patch notes of v1.06 about torque changes. This torque change not only makes changing gear on auto slower but also unable us to get good starts as before and trust me I’m the king of starts but still losing positions at the start. Much prefer the previous v1.05 version of things.

since update 1.06 the car goes from major understeer hitting corners way slower then before to instant oversteer on my g29 i went from decent lap times to i cant get this garbage around the track to save my life give us old handling modeel back please this is now unplayable without rewinds now as car doesnt turn at all tire temps are always on fire with zero pressures game just sucks now please fix

I'm on PC and currently stuck using my gamepad because my sim rig is out of action, and for the life of me I cannot get round even reasonably low speed corners without running so far wide I feel like I'm piloting an ocean liner, rather than driving an F1 car.
**EDIT: Didn't see you were on wheel, so I modified my post**

I am having the same issue. My G920 is now to stiff and inconsistent while driving. The wheel was perfect before what is going on. I have adjusted all the setting on my Ghub on (pc) and in game. This is currently unplayable for me.

The patch is a joke, every major stream but also Esportler think the patch sucks. The driving physics is a huge joke. On some tracks it is worse than in F1 2021. 1 month after the game is really out, they change the driving physics. It's about time that the F1 brand goes to a real developer studio.

That the AI has become between 0.7 and 1 second faster, you can even read on Discord. That suddenly the turn 13 in Bahrain can no longer be driven as in real, but rather again as in F1 2021 can be seen here in the forum. That the tire temperature suddenly rises like stupid you can see for yourself.

I would like to know your impressions regarding the new patch, especially with the new driving physics.
Just 2 simple answers, I like and I don't like it
Please mention if you use any simulator (Logitech, Trusthmaster, Fanatec, etc.) or if you use a controller or keyboard.

Since the update happened the upshifts take soo slow on auto gearbox. Every time it revs it all way so that Green, red and purple bit is blinking before it will go up to the next gear. This makes you lose soo much lap time. Also it’s impossible to have a good start on auto gearbox now.
We need a new update fast so that we can make auto gearbox like it was before- 3 years ago@SomaticCoast375 post here with the others, hopefully it gets looked at: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Automatic-gearbox-too-late-upshifts-after-patch-1-06/td-p/11664718

Has it to do with applying the most recent patch 1.06 on exisiting saves? Kinda weird:
Imola, 103 AI Difficulty: Grand Prix Mode (Alpine, Alonso): Could follow the Mercedes and was easily best of the rest.
Imola, 98 AI Difficulty: MyTeam Season 2 (on par with the Mclaren at the top of the Performance Charts); I can barely match the upper midfield runners. Not even talking about Mercedes and Mclaren at the front.
I also tested Imola in a driver career (Mclaren, 103 AI) and i was not as fast as Norris but i was somewhere around him/at the right place considering the car i was in.
MyTeam seems to be the most difficult game mode for some reason. The AI is insane. Even when i lower the difficulty by 5 clicks which is supposed to be like half a second/lap.
- 3 years ago@PBR3491 Known problems from past games are:
AI getting a buff after a couple of seasons, though season 2 seemed to be normal but didnt see tests for F1 22 yet
Career mode is always harder due to stat bonuses, by season 2 its likely that all teams have +2 personnel department which is +7 pace for all drivers or rather all drivers around 0.25s faster than GP mode ONLY through the stat boost.
There might be more though- 3 years ago
That makes sense, especially when the Personal Stuff did not work prior to 1.06, so a boost is to be expected. The difference though is still very unenjoyable.

I've heard mixed reports on the matter. For myself (5900x/3080 - Reverb G2) performance in VR is worse with patch 1.06 and if I change video settings while driving (as TAA modes) the game will crawl to almost a freeze, sometimes recovering sometimes not. It never happened before, I could change settings on the fly without any issues, as it never happened to me that FPS took a sudden hit everytime particles (as smoke) appear firstly on the screen, or sometimes randomly while driving. I experience random frame timing spikes while before I was perfectly fine with the settings I had. Overall VR performance in my system has actually deteriorated with the patch. On the upside, however, visual quality is drastically improved while using TAA only so you can use that instead of TAA + Sharpening, recovering much of the performance loss.
What's your own experience with patch 1.06 and VR?P.S: Also, CM, please introduce a setting to force the gaze to stay locked to the horizon in VR because mountains in the distance - for example - shouldn't be moving up or down with the movement of the camera. That's fine in 2D but in a 3D settings it feels really strange since that's not how human sight works. If you are at it then, you could also add some options to set how much the camera shake because with this last patch the latter seems increased to me (but it can be that's just placebo or I notice it more because frame times are more random than before).
Worse, before patch it crashed to desktop maybe 4 or 5 times during a race, now it CTD every 3 minutes
- 3 years ago
It can be that you have some setting that causes the crash. For example in patch 1.05 (I don't know if it still the case since I haven't tried) if you changed the vertical offset in the camera to the max or one step below the game would start to crash randomly while driving. Reverting back the setting or lowering the offset resolved the issue. I'm sure there are other settings that can cause issues in the same way because the QA hasn't had the time to test all the configurations possible.
Crashing issues are some of the worst issues to determine the cause of as there are countless of reason as to why it happens in a specific system.

@AmioramI've looked at my fpsVR stats before and after the update running the Miami track benchmark. Overall the average frame time is about the same as before. What I have noticed though is that areas such as the pit garage and starting grid line up now seem smooth where previously it had performance problems.
