Don't get me wrong. It's just hard to believe everything we read online. So unless people with good track record and knowledge of the sport comes out and say that it really sucks, it will be hard to give much credit to this kind of complaining.
Lots of "streamers" averaging 30 total views per video claiming this game is bad or whatever 🤷
I don't listen to people who back up their opinions with "facts".
Look around in Discord or Reddit. There you will find enough streamers with more than "30" viewers or even esportler 😉

@Limper545Setups from 1.05 will need to be tweaked to reduce tire temperatures to retain grip levels. Lower tire pressures is a best place to start.
I've spent a week racing at Paul Ricard in GP mode as Perez and 100 AI. I don't use assists. My setup was falling off a cliff in 1.06. The front tires were massively overheating by lap three and the AI left me in the dust. I was 2 seconds a lap slower than the AI overall where as in 1.05 I was winning the race. After three sessions I developed a better feel for the updated handling and torque. I went with the default setup for the third session and my tires did not overheat. I came in P2 about a second behind the leader. My lap times were faster by at least one second from my best laps in 1.05. So things are getting better but does require a little practice to develop a feel for the limit. The catch is the AI has improved as well and more than I have so far. This is in a way exaggerates the corners exit advantage they appear to have. This issue is marked as currently under investigation so I'm going to sit tight until it is sorted out or my driving overcomes it.
Right now I deal with the fast AI corners exits by applying a very short burst of ERS as I exit the corner. Not every corner but the ones they seem to get away from me on. It keeps me on their tail and in the DRS. Managing the ERS is very important. Even more so than 1.05.
I understand the frustrations of the community. This game was released probably 2 months too soon and might have benefitted from a public beta. However, they are working on it and I like what I read from David Greco today. I feel it is headed in the right direction. - Justianhael4 years agoSeasoned Traveler
And what do those of us who aren't race car engineers and have no clue about tire tempature do? This patch sucks and has ruined the game for me ansnI wish EA would never have gotten involved with it. Straight to hell its gone since they touched it.
- Hansenhaus4 years agoNew Veteran@NoManuelAutoonly The setup page in the game gives a simple explanation on what tyre temps do. You have to put some time into understanding the setups if you want to compete at a high AI level. Otherwise take the AI level down to your level and have fun.
There are several YouTube videos on how to adjust a setup. Instead of playing the game take a session or two to watch a video on setups and give it another shot. Or just download a bunch of setups and see which one works best for you. You can go into Time Trial mode and download the world record setup or any other. Works for me! - 4 years ago@NoManuelAutoonly It's no magic, lowest pressure equals lowest temperatures. Go as high as you can without overheating.

The changes were made by long-term Codemasters employee David Greco. Personally I think all the changes make logical sense but either way this isn't something you should blame EA for.
Do you get tyre overheating if you use the default setups?

All I know is that it used to play fine and was a challenge but not a frustration. now I can't turn and the A.I. is blowing past me

Did you just pick tyre temperatures as a random example above rather than having seen you had an issue with tyres overheating?
I think it's generally true that the cars understeer more following the update. If you're getting this with the default setups then the simplest setup change to try to help is increasing the front wing.
If you're having issues with the AI in career mode you're far from alone. In GP mode I believe they're better.
- Hansenhaus4 years agoNew Veteran@Ultrasonic_77 I can say from the sessions I did with default setups tyre temps were not an issue or at the very worst, manageable.
- mariohomoh4 years agoHero (Retired)@NoManuelAutoonly There are more casual racing games out there. And you can always increase your assists and/or decrease the difficulty.
What you can not do is expect to have the same success as someone who knows what tyre temperatures do. - Nylink4 years agoSeasoned Veteran
If you have an issue with tire temps, you can always enable surface temps only and try that as well.
But it's better to learn how tire temps work and why you are overheating. That's exactly what I'm doing now, learning more about the game
- 4 years ago@NoManuelAutoonly It’s not difficult, the devs already told everyone what to do - just keep tire pressures at or near default pressures. No engineering degree required.
