There's no such thing as a "perfect race sim/game". Your definition of "Perfect" may be different than mine which may be different than the next person's.
In the last game over body areo wasn't really modeled. In this year's game they updated the physics model to include over body areo and under-body areo as two different calculations.
Last years game, tire pressures basically did nothing, in this years game they are modeled into the physics.
Last years game was "perfect" if your definition of that means "not spinning with medium TC"
This year's game attempts to simulate more real world effects. For many people, anything that better simulates reality is more "perfect".
The devs of any sim game openly admit that no race sim *perfectly* simulates reality. But this years game attempts to get closer. Yeah, they released patches including changes to gear ratios and throttle curves. That doesn't mean last years game was perfect, it just means the devs are trying to get incrementally closer.
Everyone who plays any of these games need to be honest with themselves. Do you want a game that's (closer to) realistic but hard; or a game that tells you it's realistic even though it isn't, but is easy?
If it's the latter, then just run with more assists and turn down the AI and just have fun with it. Why is running with MD TC important to you? Why not just turn it to Full?
Because with TC full, I loose 1-2 seconds because of traction.
It's frustrating see other people and AI after a slow turn to gain on me 0,5-0,6 seconds just on acceleration.
So at least I wish use TC medium without problems.
Then, if I wanted a sim game, I would have chosen Assetto Corsa.
Ok all your words about this year car models are different compared to last year game.
But see the forum, see YouTubers, a lot of people says what I say.

"Then, if I wanted a sim game, I would have chosen Assetto Corsa."
By your own admission you don't wan't a sim, you want a fun arcade style game. That's fine. Nothing wrong with that. Why not just turn down the AI level then and run full TC?
Conversely, you mentioned other people are running with MD TC and are faster than you. Doesn't that in and of itself indicate that it IS possible to use medium TC successfully? I have friends on my TT leaderboard using ABS and MD TC and faster than me (me running zero assists). The assists clearly work for some people just fine.
You can find plenty of people on this forum and YouTuber's who like the handling/physics model of this year's game. So that doesn't really hold water as proof there's anything wrong. - 3 years ago
I just don´t understand how some gamers still are trying to find explanations or arguments for EA or CM at this stage. It should not be about us to adapt to bugs in the game.. it should be about playing a bugfree game. At this point I personally didn´t even try 1.07 because I stopped at 1.06.
The only way to get rid of these problems is if the community just stops playing right now - including youtubers and esports drivers - WHICH I KNOW WON`T HAPPEN 🤨 . Otherwise I don´t see changes incoming. I am not even talking about handling issues on the game, or straight line speed of the AI anymore, or autoshifting bugs... Its about every other aspect or bug.. SC delta time, SC in broadcast mode, different difficulties for Qualy and Race and each track, blabla.. we are reading this all over the place in this forum and most of us experienced it. They are copying this base game every year including bugs and thats not acceptable at the end. On top of the known bugs they create new bugs which get fixed during the evolution of one years game in order to keep it playable somehow..
I don´t know.. Am I completely wrong or to harsh? I don´t want to sound MEGA-NEGATIVE but its kind of the reality for me at the moment. If yes, let me know .. I just don´t see any new stuff thats important in the game .. (F1 life and supercars are just way off topic for me...) .. They even copied myteam and career another time.. nothing really new here..so i seriously don´t understand what has been done in the last 12 months to improve the game...
I watched a youtube video today of TRL and I think he really nailed it in a very professional "not salty" way and this discouraged me because I just think he is right with his explanations and I just hope he is wrong and CM/EA proves us that they are capable and motivated to give us a great experience.
link below if anyone cares:
- 3 years ago@Smag-12 No you are not harsh at all. If i would make this many mistakes in my job, I'm pretty sure i would be out of a job very quickly. However in gaming industry it has become a norm to ship broken stuff for full price without possibility to get a refund. If any other prodect would be this broken, it would be refunded immediately. But for games, we are stuck waiting for possible repairs.
Gaming is turning to *, thanks to * triple a game practices, which focus in monetization instead of good games and quantity over quality. As I said here before, this is likely that last codies game i will buy, until I see some proper changes. This is just unacceptable.
